I love you more than my bike + MY 1000TH POST!

Hi everyone! Wow. Just wow. This is my 1000th blog post!!! That number blows my mind just a wee bit. It means 1000 times now I've bored you with my ramblings and my mediocre cards. HAHAHA! Well here's the honest truth - I love you all more than my bike. And that is saying A LOT.

I used my new Hero Arts Bike with Basket, and some hearts from an Archiver's Exclusive Hero Arts set. I thought the cloud washi (from KI) would sort of hint at a lovely blue sky filled with puffy clouds when you're out riding a bike. And I generated the sentiment on my computer. I don't know if you can see it, but I added some Stickles to the saddle. Because my favorite bike EVER was the one I had when I was a kid, and it had the coolest glittery banana seat. Anyone else have one of those?

Since it's my 1000th post and all, and that doesn't happen everyday, I thought it seemed like an excuse to have a little blog party! I gathered together some goodies to giveaway. Just leave a comment for a chance to win. The two of you who actually read my blog will have excellent odds of winning... ;-)

And of course this is also a post for the 7 Days of Valentine Projects!

7 Days of Valentine Projects - Day 4 + SDC!

Today's Valentine uses fabby Stampotique stamps!

I absolutely adore this Queen of Hearts image - as well as all of the other Stampotique Alice in Wonderland-inspired art (HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE and HERE). So much fun! The Daniel's Hearts background is Stampotique too, and I just quickly wrote that sentiment myself. There's also a heart-shaped gem on her belt and a lot of Stickles - I love my Stickles!

Speaking of loving Stickles and Alice stamps and all that - this week's Stampotique Designer Challenge is hosted by Kaz and her theme is whatever makes you happy! In her words: We all have our problems in life, but life is short and we should all find something to put a smile on our faces as often as we can. So whether you choose 'happy' as your theme, your word or you use a technique that makes you smile, show me your little bit of HAPPY!

Isn't that a great theme? So I played with this Alice-inspired stamp, and I used hearts, and I colored with Copics, and I added Stickles - AND I FELT HAPPY! So there you have it.

This is also my 4th Valentine for my 7 Days of sharing...

7 Days of Valentine Projects - Day 3, Texas Style!

Today I'm sharing another Valentine, and since it's Tuesday I made it Texas-style!

This is the Barbed Wire Heart Flag from Texana Designs - I just colored it with Copics, popped up the star and coated it with Stickles. Washi tape is in the background, and that sentiment is also from Texana Designs.

7 Days of Valentine Projects - Day 2 + a giveaway!

Welcome to day two of 7 Days of Valentine Projects! Today I'm playing with the first Texana Designs stamp I ever bought, on that wonderful, fateful day when I met the sweetest lady in all of stamping, Jimmye Sue Mitchell, at a craft fair in Austin. How could I possibly resist these Lemurs in Love??

I wanted to make a non-standard Valentine with this stamp today - no pinks, no reds, but a nice masculine color scheme so I can give this card to my hubby on Valentine's Day. Don't worry - he doesn't read my blog so I'm not spoiling anything. ;-) I used my Prismacolor pencils again today - love those things. The message is also from Texana Designs, found right here.

Do you love these Lemurs in Love as much as I do?? Well guess what - I have an extra stamp to give away!! YAY! It's on cling mount, and looking for a loving home. :-) Just leave me a comment, and I'll announce the winner on Day 7 of this Valentine's card sharing event - Saturday, February 2.

Now let's find out what the other ladies are up to, shall we?

7 Days of Valentine Projects - Day 1

Hello and welcome to Day 1 of 7 Days of Valentine Projects. Donna Bowman invited me to join her and a bunch of other fabulous bloggers to share happy, heart-filled projects for a week, just for fun. Yay!! Here's my first project, inspired by this past week's Triple Stamping tutorial on Splitcoaststampers.

I used the Hero Arts Hydrangea for my triple stamped card (which, oops, is really only double stamped - I didn't choose a large enough stamp, LOL!). I colored the image with colored pencils and added a butterfly from Butterflies & Wildflowers. The whole thing is spritzed with Glimmer Mist.

Now head on over and check out what the other ladies are up to!

Name That Toon - a Hambo blog hop!

Welcome to "Name That Toon!", the latest Hambo Stamps blog hop! Today Hambo friends and the Bacon Bits Design Team are bringing you a dozen fun creations that depict comic strips! It might be our favorite, or just one that was fun to design. If you arrived here from Lyn's blog you are in the right place! If not, you might want to start back at the beginning at the Hambo blog to make sure you are eligible for the hopper prize!

So - can you tell which comic strip I chose?

Being the enginerd that I am, Dilbert has always been my favorite! Back when I was part of the working world at Motorola, Dilbert strips were always so timely, capturing what we were doing, or what management was doing. We were absolutely positive Scott Adams had to have a mole inside Motorola, gathering ideas for his strip! When I saw the theme for this hop I knew I wanted to do a Dilbert post, but I was stumped! Monica pointed out a card with the Three Ties - digi would be perfect. Especially if I captured the "Dilbert look" by turning up the end of the tie!

Thanks for the great idea, Monica!! I paired the tie, which I just colored with black & red stripes to look like Dilbert, with the Birthdays Happen - 1808 message to finish it off.

I have to share one of my all-time favorite Dilberts! Not sure it will amuse anyone else as much as it did me, but I worked in Quality Assurance and always had this one hanging up in my cubicle, LOL!

Now back to the blog hop particulars - a prize will be awarded to one participant whose comic strip-themed creation tickles the Bacon Bits’ fancy in a hammin’ jammin’ way!  Another prize will be awarded randomly to a hopper who comments on all of the blogs along the way. The winners will be announced on the Hambo company blog,Talk to the Ham, on Wednesday, January 23, as well as at the Hambo Hoedown challenge blogWe love comments anytime, but the deadline for prize entry comments is Sunday, January 20 at 5 PM CST. Don't miss it!

Now laugh on over to Carolyn's blog for another great Comic Strip!

Bikes & Resolutions

Hi everyone!

I'm back from my little holiday hiatus with my card for this week's Stampotique Designer's Challenge. The theme is New Year's Resolutions! Can you guess what mine is?

No, it's not to be more frog-like. HA! My goal is to become more of a person who RIDES her bike rather than just a person who sits on her couch loving everything bike-related. Oh, and to hug myself more. :-) The cute frog is Stampotique's Old Timey Frog, and the message is Give Self A Hug.

I hope you'll play along with us this week!
