7 Days of Easter Projects - Day 6

I'm a day late on my Day 6 post - better late than never? Today I made a card for my bunny-loving girl using the Hunny Bunny set from My Favorite Things.

Isn't she the cutest? I followed along with Michele's MFT Academy post on coloring hair - my attempt is not perfect, but probably the best hair I've ever colored! I also played along with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch Challenge.

The flower is an MFT Rolled Daisy. I have trouble making rolled flowers, I think my fingers are just too fat and uncoordinated. But after five attempts, this one was decent enough to put on the card, LOL! I think next time I need to put something in the center under the pearl, so it's not in there so deep. Live and learn!

I wanted to add a flower to play along with this week's Catered Crop Recipe Swap! The theme is Flower Power - you just need to include some sort of flower on your card.

7 Days of Easter Projects - Day 5

For today's bunny project, I will show you how to make a little girl happy in about five minutes! I made a sweet little crown for a bunny princess.

I took a regular old toilet paper roll...

Cut it to look like a crown...

Painted it pink...

Adorned it with gems and pearls and ribbon from my stash...

And coronated a sweet little much-loved bunny.

My 5 year old princess is thrilled.

Now please visit my blogging friends and see what they are up to...

7 Days of Easter Projects - Day 4

Today's "Easter" project may be a bit of a stretch, but I have already declared that I'm actually doing 7 Days of BUNNY Projects, so here is Bunny #4...
I adore this sweet bunny from Stampotique Originals. She's from artist Maria Sabina Raita and she's called Upward Bound. Such a sweet bunny! I decided to add a ton of dimension to this card via paper piecing and foam tape. See:

No, I am not a quick cardmaker. LOL!

Between the bunny and the springy pink color, I made this card with the current Stampotique Designers Challenge theme in mind - spring! Head over to the SDC blog to see what my teammates created, and to play along!

And of course you also need to check out what my 7 Days of Easter Projects friends are up to!

7 Days of Easter Projects - Day 3

Today my daughter Courtney is sharing the Easter project of the day!

Last Friday morning she watched a video tutorial by Lydia Fiedler and was completely fascinated by it (Mommy! She's stamping an elephant! Mommy! She made TINY LITTLE TICKETS!!). After school that day she asked if she could paint, and then asked if I would film her for a painting tutorial! First she painted a leprechaun, which I shared on Facebook. And now we have tutorial #2. Some of you only think about bunnies during this time of year, but in our house it's all bunny, all the time. Courtney's best friend in the world is her much-loved little Silver Bunny. Today she is sharing a tutorial on how to paint a bunny. :-)

I apologize for the sound, it fell out of synch with the video for some reason. And my son wasn't helpful at times, LOL. Ah well. When Courtney finished this video, she decided she wasn't quite done with the picture, so here's Part 2:

I'm very proud of my little budding artist. Kid art makes me very happy!

Now how about finding out what the other adults are up to today? :-)

7 Days of Easter Projects - Day 2

It's Day 2 of 7 Days of Easter Projects - or as I like to call them, seven days of bunny projects! Here's my next bunny...

This little cutie is called Thoughtful Bunny, and he's from Hero Arts. I colored him with my Copics then put together a card based on the latest retro sketches challenge:

Now head on over and see more Easter projects from my blogging friends.

7 Days of Easter Projects - Day 1

Today kicks off another blog event organized by Donna Bowman. This time we're sharing 7 Days of Easter Projects! I hope all of my peeps like this one...

For this card, I played with a $1 Studio G stamp I picked up at Michael's many many years ago. I just thought the bunny peeps were too cute. All these years later I'm finally actually USING the stamp, LOL! Geesh. Please don't call Stamp Hoarders on me...!

Be sure to stop by my blogging friends and find out what they're up to!

These are a few of my favorite things...

Heather Doran organized an ATC (Artist Trading Card) swap over in the Hero Arts Flickr Group. It sounded like loads of fun, so I signed up to play along. And lucky me, I got to trade with the hostess herself, Heather! We decided to create 6 ATCs each, representing some of our favorite things. We took our time with this swap but finally we traded packages across the ocean. Heather received my ATCs a couple days ago, so now I can share them here on my blog! Can you guess what some of my favorite things might be?

Did you get any right? Hmm... bikes?? No way. Shocking, isn't it? Ha! For my bike ATC I used a ton of different Hero Arts stamps. Clouds, Envelope Pattern lightly in the grass, a bike from Joy Ride, the banner from Life of the Party Birthday, and the message from My Happy. Which is fitting, because bikes are my happy!

ATC #2 represents my love of aquariums and all of the creatures of the ocean. The shells are from Antique Engravings, the message from Oh Snap, and there is Friend Definition in the background. I stamped it all on some Sticky Back Canvas, and blended on some Distress inks.

This is probably my favorite ATC of the bunch. It represents both my love of gardening, and also the fact that poppies are my favorite flower. I don't know that I've ever seen them this blue, but I think Delicate Blossoms looks pretty awesome in this color. After I colored them with Copics, I masked them off and used Friend Definition again, a bunch of Distress ink and Glimmer Mist on the background. This ATC has a fun shimmer to it!

Next - yeeeeehaw - my love of Texas. Surely you saw that one coming. ;-) The girl is from Howdy and there's Magical Background stamped lightly in the background. The stars were added with white pigment ink.

ATC #5 makes me happy too - it represents my love of cooking and my love of eating yummy veggies! I don't generally eat veggies that are looking back at me, but these veggies from Kiss the Cook are too cute to resist!

And finally, ATC #6 - I love NYC! I really do love NYC, but I'm not entirely sure it's in my top six things on the planet. BUT, I created this fun misted background, and the water splotches looked like clouds in a night sky to me, soooooo I grabbed my Skyline stamp I've been dying to use and made a city scene. I printed off the iconic I *heart* NYC logo from the computer.

This was so much fun!! I'm glad Heather organized the swap, it was fun to create on such a small scale, and especially while playing with themes that make me happy! Heather shared these ATCs over on her blog too (she's the sweetest!) and I'll be sharing hers here once they arrive. I cannot wait to see what Heather made, I know it will be wonderful!!

SDC91 - Sketch Challenge!

Hi everyone, today I'm playing with more of my wonderful new Stampotique goodies for this week's Designers Challenge!

Isn't this Feline completely FAB?! I just love her to pieces. I colored her with Copics, masked her off and blended on some Distress inks for the background. The message is found right here. Lots of buttons & gems & sequins & sparkle make it fun.

The challenge this week is a SKETCH! I love sketch challenges! Yay!

Come play with us, won't ya? Please? You don't even have to to use Stampotique stamps, and there are prizes every month drawn from all of the participants. You don't want to miss out on that!

Texas Tuesday - Bluebonnet Time!!

It's getting to be the time of year when I especially miss Texas. When all the bluebonnets begin making their appearance. Oh how I miss the fields of blue! So today I'm playing with one of my Texana Designs bluebonnets - if I can't be in Texas looking at the real thing, I'll bring them into my stamp room!

I stamped the Jam'n Bluebonnet on watercolor paper, and used Distress ink and my water brush to watercolor the flower. I have the framed version of this stamp and just cut it out, but there's an unframed version available as well, here. The background was created using more Distress inks and the Texas Bluebonnets Background stamp, finished off with a little Glimmer Mist. You'll have to trust me on the glimmer, it doesn't show in the photo. ;-) The fabby sequins are from Neat & Tangled.

I scribbled the little black "frame" around the background panel to play along with the latest Catered Crop Recipe Swap! There's still time to create your own card with a frame and join us!

New Stampotique!! A Blog Hop...

Hello and welcome to the Stampotique new release blog hop!! You should have found me from the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog. If not, hop on over there to start from the beginning! And be sure to leave comments along the way as you hop, there will be prizes!
Today I played with this adorable new Stack of Birds (4027). Isn't it fun?? The Banner (10001)  is new too! The actual stamp is a bit longer, but I cut off the first couple flags to make it fit on my card. There's also some "stitching" on the stamp design, I added actual stitching!

I played along with this week's Play Date Cafe colors for this card, too.

Now hop on over and see what Jane Wetzel came up with today. And visit the Stampotique website to see the entire collection.
