Stickles Rock!

I said I was going to tell you some of my favorite things this month (in honor of this month's SCS Fan Club Gallery theme) - well here's another one - STICKLES!! Funny story about Stickles - last September my friend LisaK and I went to this *fabulous* little stamp store in Salado, TX where I was told I *must have* some of these Stickles. I said "ok" as any good lemming would and bought a few varieties. Then I left them sitting on my desk FOR MONTHS!! Only recently, when I became addicted to SCS and blogs and whatnot, and saw everyone saying they added Stickles to their projects, did I say to myself "hey wait, I have some of that stuff!" - so I dusted them off and tried them, and fell madly in love! I love glitter, and would typically add a little sparkle with a glue pen & some SU Dazzling Diamonds - which is nice, but MESSY - with Stickles the glitter is in the glue so there is no mess whatsoever! (unless you forget that your card hasn't dried yet and you set something on top of it - ugh - been there, done that!) The little bottle has a cool little pointy spout on it too, making it easy to get the sparkle right where you want it. If you're wondering where to find Stickles - you can get them online, and I've seen them at Archivers and Jo-Ann. So of course I decided I had to rave to you about Stickles tonight (man I sure wish Ranger was paying me for this advertising!!) because I just got done using them. I made this simple but sweet little card for my son's music teacher, as the semester is coming to a close. This was my take on this week's SCS Sketch Challenge, to use a small panel on the card. This isn't really a panel per se, but it's the same idea (I think?). I love how some of my favorite stampers occasionally make very simple cards on white cardstock, so I wanted to try that too. I found this cool Stampendous music stamp on clearance at my LSS! I used turquoise Stickles on the music notes, and stamped "you rock" with my snap stamps. Very simple, but I like how it turned out! And by the way - I was too impatient to wait for my Stickles to dry before taking the photo... oh well! :-)

{FYI - the store I mentioned is called Stamp Salado. The store is wonderful but they are still working on their website, they had hoped to have it up this month. If you're a stamp addict and live in Texas you *must* make a roadtrip, you will love it!}
