Another day, another challenge card...

This time it's Julee's Mojo Monday sketch challenge (Mojo37) that I turned to. Unfortunately it's also the second day in a row that I'm not thrilled with the final card, but I thought I'd post it anyway. But it's another one I'd like to redo if I find some time!! Today I dug out my *adorable* little birdies from smARTworks that Dina designed - love them! I glittered them up using the SU fine cosmo glitter and my Tsukineko essential glue pad. Do any of you use this glue pad? I'm not sure I like it. The glitter doesn't adhere very well with it, IMHO. Remember my glittery Elvises? Well that card has left a trail of glitter all over my stamp room, it has not stayed put very well. Am I supposed to heat it or set it or something? Hmm. I'm not happy. But I used it again today anyway, what the heck. I *love* that purple polka dot ribbon though!! I got it in an AWESOME ribbon share that Jody the Ribbon Queen hosted. I literally gasped when I opened the box she sent, all of the ribbon was so gorgeous! Ok I better pay some attention to Carter while his sister is napping - as you may have guessed from yesterday's post, he's currently plopped in front of a Thomas video...! Thanks for stopping by today!
  • Stamps: smARTworks, Verve Visual
  • Paper: Going Gray, Cool Caribbean, Whisper White, K&Co DP
  • Ink: Black StazOn (mmm smells so yummy!!)

  1. Love your sparkly birdies! I've had the best luck with the glue pad when I reink it just before stamping so it's good and juicy. Then use the finest glitter you can find (I use ultrafine glitter from the Art Insitute. The bigger the flecks of glitter, the more it's going to brush off.) and make sure to mush it in pretty good and then wait a moment or so before dusting off the excess. I usually use the cap of the glitter jar to mush the glitter in. Like my techy term, there? LOL! Anyways, great card! Thanks for playing! :)

  5. I think this card is totally cute! I can't imagine what part of it you don't like. LOVE the purple polka dot ribbon! I've only used my glue pad once but it worked quite well, I thought. Instructions indicate the glue needs to be fairly fresh--dries out in the pad. I figured I'd have to add more glue every time I used it...but I haven't used it again yet. Sorry I can't be much help there. Once I discovered Stickles there was no turning back.
