From Courtney's Closet - an inspiration challenge

Well, Courtney's done it again! She's inspired me to make another card! Here's my latest installment of From Courtney's Closet - a card inspired by one of my baby girl's outfits. This little onesie is just too cute not to try to reproduce on paper! So I broke out the embroidery floss and needle and got to work! I started by attempting to sketch the flower - luckily it's a super simple flower, because I am certainly not a good drawer - this is why I love rubberstamping! Once I had a decent flower drawn in pencil, I took my paper piercer and mat and punched holes along the pencil lines. Then the pencil lines were erased and I sewed the design on the card. I'm sad to say that by the time I finished this my fingertips were rather numb - I have trouble with carpal tunnel sometimes - this does not bode well for my desire to crochet!! I was going to add a few more details that are on Courtney's onesie, but this was about all the sewing my fingers could take (plus it was lunchtime and I was hungry, LOL). It was a bit time-consuming, but not difficult at all - so if you'd like to give handstitching on a card a whirl, this is your perfect opportunity - just play along with my challenge! :-) I used my Janome Sew Mini to stitch around the perimeter of the card. I thought about sewing around the edge of the main panel as well, but I'm such a lousy, crooked paper seamstress I was afraid I'd botch it up after the flower took me so long to make! The only stamp used on today's card is that Celebrate sentiment from AMuse. So... you know the drill - if this inspires you at all, play along and be sure to link back here to let me know that you did! If you upload to SCS, we're on FCCC04.

My cool stamper of the week award goes to Sue of Sue's Stamping Stuff! She made my day by playing along with last week's challenge! And not only that, it was her first time *ever* playing a blog challenge!!! I'm so honored that she took the plunge with little ol' me!! Thanks Sue!

Thanks for stopping by today - hope you're all having some fun in your craft rooms!

  14. Okay, I'm a week late, but I did it. I'd do this week's or the week before this one, but I seem to not have any fruit stamps. :)
