From Courtney's Closet - an inspiration challenge

It's that time of the week once again, to be an obnoxious mommy and subject you all to a photo of my little sweetpea! This past weekend Courtney and I hosted a little dinner party at our house (Daddy was in Korea and Brother was at his Aunt's house) - Courtney wore her cutest little party dress for the occasion. She sat up on the countertop in her bumbo seat while I finished preparing the appetizers (I know, probably not the safest place to have her in a bumbo, but it worked!). I swear, she is the happiest, smiliest little baby on the planet - this photo is really how she looks most of the time! Except I don't have her in her best party dress all of the time, of course. ;-) I showed my friend Cindy this photo and her response was "I can't wait to see the card you make to match". Hmm. Guess I'm getting predictable. Well Cindy, here it is! :-) You can see how the polka dots inspired me, and the color combo and the big bow. The hippo has nothing to do with Courtney's outfit, I just wanted to include it for fun. I mentioned in my last post that my watercolor crayons were feeling unloved, so I played with them tonight too. I needed a baby card to send to a friend, so I figured it sort of made sense to turn an FCCC card into a baby card! The little hippo is cut out and popped up on dimensionals. Does Courtney's sweet little party dress inspire you? If so, head to your stamp room, and let me know what happens! Post a comment here with your link, and if you happen to upload to Splitcoast please use keyword FCCC. I'd love to see what you come up with!! If you're finding this challenge for the first time today, fyi I've gone back and added labels to my blog posts - over to the left you can now find the link to all of my From Courtney's Closet posts.

Last week's outfit once again inspired Sue - she created this ADORABLE card!! I just love it, such a cute image and her coloring is just fantastic. Thanks once again for playing along Sue!!!

Thanks for stopping by today, and have a very happy 4th!!

  5. I haven't had a chance to play along, but hopefully I can with the long weekend!! :) Courtney is SO cute - esp in that bumbo seat. I didn't know about those seats until recently when my boyfriend showed me his friend who has triplets in these seats all lined up. So funny!

  17. Okay, if they gave out awards for cuteness - this would be in the hall of fame, both your adorable daughter and that darling card. Back in the day . . . my grandmother used to make quilts out of left-over fabric from the garments she made us. I cherish it still - your cards will be such precious keepsakes to both your daughter and you, commemorating such a precious time in your lives.

    (this is why I shouldn't post after 10:00 p.m., I get mushy)

  20. Just found your blog and love all your cards but I feel I really need to comment about the picture of your dd on the counter. My friend's son was in one of those seats on the kitchen counter and even though she was right there, her son fell out of the seat and got a fractured skull. Please only use that chair on the floor!
