My favorite holiday...

Here's a cute little card I just threw together! I stamped a bunch of images and took them with me on vacation, along with my Koh-I-Noor pencils (I bought them from Isabelle's store!) and my blending stumps. I didn't want to have to pack my odorless mineral spirits, so I just picked up some baby oil from the grocery store in Cape Cod. Isabelle rocks - I asked her if these pencils work well with baby oil, and she tried it out right away (before I placed my order!) and reported about it on her blog. Such awesome customer service!! So as the title of this post indicates, I *love* Halloween!! You will probably be seeing a LOT of Halloween cards on here between now and October 31. Which is a bit funny, since it's not like I ever SEND Halloween cards. But maybe I'll have to this year. :-) I already know what Carter and Courtney will be dressing up as this year. Although, Courtney's requires me to attempt sewing, so we'll see... ;-) The cute little trick or treater on this card is a Hambo image. Have you seen the Halloween page over at the Hambo Stamps site?? OH MY CUTENESS!!! I think I need every single stamp on there. Good thing I'm on the design team, LOL! My favorite is the little skeleton holding the creepy balloon. You'll see a card on here with him soon, but for now you'll just have to click over there and check him out! And while you're there - place an order!!! Everything is still 30% off - Monica has extended the sale until midnight TUESDAY night!! And maybe 35% if you are the first from your state to place an order! This is the best chance you're going to get in a while to stock up on CUTE and FUNNY stamps!! Ok am I sounding too much like a salesperson? Sorry. I really, truly just have your best interest in mind. :-) Back to my card, there's one other quick thing I want to tell you about it - I decided to use those little black buttons as an embellishment, and wanted to tie some orange embroidery floss through them. But, I realized my jar of floss is still in my old stamp room, not in my new stamp closet, and going to get it would require tiptoeing through my bedroom twice, where Courtney is sleeping - so - I had to come up with something else. Then in occurred to me - putting BRADS through the buttons!!! I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this, but I hadn't seen it before, so I was proud of myself. It doesn't take much, really. LOL. Okee dokee, I better get some other things done while the kiddos are still napping!! Thanks for stopping by today!

  8. Well, THAT's interesting to put brads through the buttons! I've certainly never thought of that but I LOVE it! I also really like your card design. It's great to have images already colored and be able to put a card together quickly. The buttons are a great touch for dressing up your card. Fabulous coloring, too!
