Angel of peace

ETA: I ended up drawing Beate's name! How funny is that, since it was her sketch that I used for the card?? :-)
I love this card. Am I allowed to admit that?? Well it's true. And I'm afraid I *have to* tell you how much I love it, because the photo isn't doing it enough justice!! It's a very simple card - yet so pretty, elegant and peaceful. I've fallen in love with yet another stamp company - this image is from American Art Stamp. A few weeks ago I went on a bit of a shopping spree at my LSS, and this was one of my many American Art Stamp purchases that day. Sadly I haven't had time to ink any of them up until today! The layout for this card is one of Beate's sketches. I actually put together the background of this card a few weeks ago when Beate first posted the sketch, but it didn't work with the image I was coloring at the time - so I set it aside. I love how it works with this angel! Here's a little Copic tip: I chose colors to try and match the DP, but it ended up too bright. So then I just took a gray marker (in this case warm gray #1) and went over everything to tone it down. Worked like a charm!! The DP is all from the Nana's Nursery stacks - I think it's a combo of the boy and girl stacks. I stamped the peace sentiment with my snap stamps. So what do you think? Do you think you'd love this card IRL? If so, tell me - I'll draw a name from the comments and send it to that person. I've decided I need to stop hoarding my card stash! So this is my first step in the hoard-free direction. :-) Thanks for stopping by - have a great week!

  2. Ooooooh, it's gorgeous and I LOVE the image and all those different DP's. I really like the American Art Stamps images. Gosh, there are so many great stamps. I'm really loving Impression Obsession lately, too. I need to quit looking as I don't have time to use what I have let alone go running for more!
