From Courtney's Closet #51 - Carter's turn!!

Welcome to another edition of From Courtney's Closet, where I make a card inspired by one of my baby girl's sweet outfits. Except, this time I didn't do that! Remember wayyyy back when I started doing this, I said maybe occasionally I'd peek into Carter's closet instead? Well, apparently I lied. :-) But Kate left a comment this week saying she'd like to see some more Carter on here, so... her wish is my command! This photo of Carter was taken at our neighborhood park last week. The problem with using Carter's "outfits" in this challenge is that for the most part, his clothes really aren't that "cute" anymore. They aren't that terribly inspiring, I'm sorry to say. But in this photo, he does have a dinosaur on his t-shirt, so I went with that. I also love how he's sitting inside the blue tunnel, so that inspired me to pull out this paper with all the blue circles on it, and also add the brads to the dinosaur. And finally I took the rest of my color combo from Carter's outfit, adding the red block to my card. Both of the stamps I used on this card are retired from Stampin' Up. Oldies but goodies, IMHO! So what do you think? Feel like making a more boyish card this week?? I sure hope you do! Once your card is posted somewhere, come back here and share the link so I know where to find you! (and by the way, scroll down to the bottom of my last roundup post, I shared a link to a tutorial that may come in handy when you leave your comment!) Thanks so much for stopping by today!

  • Paper: PTI white cardbase, K&Co Citronella mat pad

  1. OMW Libby - this is fabulous! I adore the way the card is structured around the entire photograph. The circles on the DP are perfect for the circular windows in the blue tube Carter's sitting in. He's a beautiful child! Congratulations on your beautiful family and on this exceptional post!

  2. Great card, love those colors together. I need more masculine/boy cards and was just digging through my patterned paper the other day thinking I need to branch out a little more.

    Great picture!

  3. Oh, my wow! I love the idea with the brads! It's a great card, Libby, and I love the photo of Carter, too. Your take on the inspiration piece is very creative. Hmmmmmm...I guess you'll just have to start dressing Carter in some funky, cool clothes!

  8. Down to the wire as usual. I searched everywhere but didn't have anything 'dino-rific' in my stamp stash. A few dragons, but no dinos. I needed girl cards so I opted to be inspired by the FAB colors in Carter's photo.

  10. Hey Libby! I played along this week at the last minute. Too bad I don't have time to find where you showed us how to make our links look pretty!
