Another Simply Adorable baby!

I made this card for my friend Cindy, who had the sweetest little baby boy almost three weeks ago. I was going to play with Bundle of Joy, but then remembered my sister had borrowed it, so instead I turned to one of my old favorites, I'm Here. I'm so glad this one stuck around in the catalog with us for at least another six months! I did use some new things on this card as well - the colors are Soft Sky and Bayou Blue, and I used the Soft Sky Prints DS paper. The hemp twine is SU, and the twill tape is by Martha. The other new thing on this card - I had been lusting over the scallop punches everyone uses for ages now, and I finally got one for myself a few weeks ago - and this is the first time I've used it!!! Geesh! After wanting one that badly, you'd think I would have used it right away!! I pierced holes along the scallop and then drew in "faux eyelets" with my white gel pen, as I've seen many people do many times before. It's a quick and simple card, but I thought it turned out really sweet. For a shower I'm going to on Saturday, I hope to try Leslie's extremely cool colored liquid applique technique! Wish me luck with that! :-)

Today I finally placed my first new catalog order!! Everyone seems to be posting their orders on their blogs, so I'll play along! I focused more on accessories than stamps, which is typical for me! Here's what I'll be anxiously awaiting from Mr. Brown!!
- Here, Kitty Kitty stamps [I love kitties!]
- Wanted stamps & the Bronco wheel [How can a Texan not order these!??!]
- Pretties Kit [I can't wait to play with dying the flowers!]
- Kraft taffeta ribbon [Can't wait to see what this stuff is like! I see another ribbon share in my future with all this excellent new ribbon!!!!]
- Antique Brass jumbo eyelets [I'm not a huge eyelet fan, but I wanted to check them out]
- Photo corners punch
- Scallop punch [You just heard how I lust for scallops!]
- Rich Regals textured cardstock [Can't wait to see what the texture is like!!!!]
- Wintergreen DS paper [I loved these patterns in the Winter mini, so I'm excited to have them in different colors!!]
- Color Index labels [Woohoo!!! I know I could have ordered something similar on eBay long ago, but I'm excited SU has this now - so annoyed that the revamped ink pads don't have names on the sides!]
- Event Full hostess set

I also got to cash in my $30 gift certificate, so with that I ordered more DS paper - Outlaw, Fall Flowers and Creepy Crawly.

Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to get all my new goodies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

  7. Oh, I love your card, Libby! Sooooo pretty in these colors! I'm glad you're going to give the LA thing a try, too. Also, I'll be ordering that Wintergreen paper for Christmas. I think I like the softness of these colors even more than last year's. I'll be looking forward to how you use your new stuff as well as how you use your old stuff!
