First of all, I want to apologize to you awesome people out there who continue to check my blog, even though I've posted nothing in over a week, and my posting of new cards has been virtually nonexistent over the past month! I am just floored that my counter keeps going up! I feel just terrible that you are coming here, hoping to see something new, and finding nothing! I so appreciate you all, it completely makes my day when I read your nice comments, so you'd think I'd post to get those comments... life has just been a little crazy lately! My room is still a disaster, although I did clear a path from the door to my desk, and cleaned off my desk enough to stamp a little to prep for my hostess club last week. And I do have a couple cards to show you from hostess club - I just haven't had a chance to photograph them yet. Soon!! I am also completely embarrassed that I've gotten some WONDERFUL raks over the past month and I have failed to post my thank yous!! That is just unacceptable! Rose Ann and Corie, I appreciated them SO much, and I will post proper thank yous soon. :-(
Mimi, my favorite coffee-lovin' blogger over at Stamps-a-latte Stamp Cafe, tagged me today with the Rockin' Girl Blogger tag!! I feel like anything but a rockin' blogger these days, but I so appreciate Mimi doing that, she is just too sweet! So now I get to tag 5 other bloggers who ROCK!
- I can never do an awesome blogger post without mentioning Leslie at Running with Scissors. She helped kick start my blog adventure by giving me an "audience" - she is hands down the most talented stamper, gardener and all around nice person that I know. I only wish she didn't live so far away so I could know her IRL.
- Another super sweet blogger that I'm so thankful to have met is Rose Ann at Paper Delightz. A fellow Michigander, she's another one I wish I could get together with IRL, although I hear she's quite a homebody. ;-)
- Sophia at Moonlight Inker amazes me with every card she posts! She chooses such vibrant and often unusual combinations of color and embellishments, it's such a treat to check what she's up to. And her coloring is fabulous!
- Colleen at Distinctive Touches is the Blogging Queen in my opinion! She comes up with so many wonderful ideas, tutorials, challenges - you name it - I am constantly in awe of her (especially seeing how I can't come up with ANYTHING lately!!). And she is so freakin' organized!!! That is something I aspire to but just cannot achieve... :-)
- And last but not least, Angie at Quacking Creations. I just LOVE everything she stamps, mainly because she seems to love glitter as much as I do!! Her cards are always so sparkley and gorgeous, there are about a zillion of her cards on my "must case" list, if only I could find some time to stamp!
I can't believe I could only choose five - there are SO MANY rockin' bloggers out there! Anyone in my blog roll rocks in my opinion! (which by the way I need to update, since moving to Google Reader I've added a zillion people to my Reader, but haven't updated my blog roll in AGES! Sorry to those of you I'm missing!! One of these days...!)
Ok since who knows when I'll post again, I'll go ahead and add one more thing to this essay of a post! I just recently finished a book that I really loved, so I thought I'd pass along the recommendation since I know some of you out there are avid readers! The book is called Sleep Toward Heaven, and it's written by an Austin writer, so that in itself is cool (to me!) because some of takes place in Austin (and most of it in Texas). The author is actually a friend of my brother's, so that's cool too. And this was her first novel! That amazes me, such talent right out of the shoot. Anyway - I finished this book in tears, I was really moved by it. But I also finished it at 3am on an insomnia-filled night, so that may have also made me a little more emotional than normal. :-) It's a little more, um, brutal? than the typical books I read (HA! the last book I told you about was a vampire book! But this is different-brutal) :-) Let me know if you give it a try, and tell me what you think.
Now I'm re-reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince! I am totally excited to get the new book this weekend! But with my feeble brain, I can never remember what happened in the previous book by the time the next one comes out, hence the re-read. I saw the Order of the Phoenix movie this past weekend, and now I'm re-reading this one - so I should be all set to start The Deathly Hallows next week! BOO HOO, I can't believe that will be the end of my Harry Potter reading! I love these books so much! I told my hubby I can't wait to read them to my son... sadly there's still a long way to go before that happens, these days he just has me read his favorite My First Truck book and Little People Farm flip book OVER and OVER and OVER!! I am tempted to hide these two books, I am so sick of reading them! But I am not that cruel. He just loves them!
Ok I just wasted an hour writing this post - time for bed & Harry Potter. Goodnight!

I have missed your posts...but I completely understand! There are other things out there besides blogging....: ) I am reading the first Harry Potter novel to my son. He is ten but still loves to be read to!
ReplyDeleteYour post was so NOT a waste! I enjoyed every word of it, as I always enjoy your writing. You could write a book, yourself--you're very clever! Even if you don't post a card, it's so fun to read what you have to say. And thanks for the tip on the book. I'm an avid reader and it looks interesting. I'll look it up in Amazon... Oh, and thanks for putting me on your list--you're definitely a Rockin' Blogger in so many ways. I've been pretty slow about tagging...I'll try to catch up!
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to read your post today! It's always a joy reading about what you're up to! Thanks for tagging me as a Rockin' Girl Blogger. I could just as well tag you right back! You are too sweet, and I appreciate it! By the way....I think it would be really awesome to meet you IRL as well. ;)
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! I am glad you are posting again...I was visiting every day and got worried that you got stuck under a stack of stamps or something in your stamp room...I was getting ready to send out the troopers! (ha ha ha)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Rocking Blogger tag...(I actually named you as a rocking blogger on Wednesday, but I forgot to email everyone...) You are just the sweetest...and you truly ARE a rocking gal.
As for your post...don't ever think it was a waste...I love coming here and hearing about everything you are doing. And the book...I am on my way out to buy it today. I can't wait. (maybe we should start a virtual book club!)
Hugs girlie.
Congrats!! You ARE a rockin' blogger girl!! Love looking at your creations!! :)
