Another baby-related post

Ok I know nobody cares to read this stuff other than my sister - you're thinking "where's the card, woman!?". Oh well. My blog, I can ramble if I want to!

It all started this morning when I put on my maternity top, that fit fine this past weekend (!) and now it's very tight across my belly. Interesting.

So then I went to the doctor and had an ultrasound to estimate Cupcake's size. Right now they are estimating 7lbs. With 23 days to go. Yikes! They said she'll probably be 9lbs if I go full term. Carter was 8lbs 1oz. 9lbs sounds a little scary, but doable. I was afraid they were going to say 10lbs, because she feels ginormous. Very uncomfortable lately - lots of backaches and hip pain. I have a hard time getting up off the couch or out of bed. I can barely put my own socks on. I told my hubby that he may have to start putting them on me - he thought I was joking...

So then I met a friend for lunch, and we sat in a booth. I almost didn't fit! I had maybe an inch of clearance. My friend offered to pull the table closer to her, but it was bolted down. Sad.

Then I went to pick my son up from preschool, and another mom said to me "looks like you're having a baby any day now!". I told her I'm due Feb 2, and she said she was "like me - looked like she was having twins." Sigh. So apparently I look like I'm having twins!

So there ya have it. I'm officially huge.

  1. Been there, done that! I was huge with my second one, and based on ultrasounds, they thought he would be bigger than my first (DD, who was 9 lbs., 8 oz), but when the booger was finally born, he was a runt at 6 lbs., 13 oz. He shot out like a watermelon seed -- so don't give up hope! LOL

  2. See! Other people care about these things. I wasn't even the first one to post! I feel like I need to come see you now. You didn't look like you were having twins when I saw you last!

  3. I love reading your baby-related posts, Libby! It's so exciting, and I'm glad that you are sharing with us!

I can relate to that "big" feeling.... times three. I remember people saying those kinds of comments to me my last month as well.

    Hugs!

  4. Oh, it's getting exciting, Libby! My friend who I've been doing the baby cards for is due Feb. 14. She moans and groans her way through the work day but I know being there with the rest of us helps with the waiting. I remember that feeling, though. There were certain things I simply couldn't do toward the end. We had a Volkswagon bus and at the very end I couldn't get close enough to the steering wheel so that I could still reach the pedals, too. Hang in there!

  5. Oh Libby...I just had to giggle at this post! I am sure you are NOT huge...and even if you are...you are going to be getting the BESTEST return for that weight in just 22 days (or so)!

  6. Oh girl... I feel your pain! :) Literally. I'm 5'2" and have ZERO torso so the only place my belly can go is OUT and BOY DID IT! My kiddo was 9lbs 7.2 oz .. and I felt every milligram of it! :) It'll be over sooner than you know! :) Good luck -- and may the force be with you (ha ha - I know you'll "get" that one ;)

  7. Libby, you crack me up when you write about prego stuff. I actually heard my cell phone ring tonight when putting Adrian to bed. I ignored it to finish up, but then my heart jumped thinking it could be you calling for an early hospital run! EEK, I ran to the phone, but alas, it was not you in need :)

  8. Libby, the cards can wait! Take good care of yourself in these last few weeks of pregnancy, okay?! Get lots of rest!

  9. I feel for ya, I felt big in the last few weeks too and my little guy was 8lbs and had a ginormous head (which explains the C section and they told me he was going to be 6 lbs!!)
Hopefully the last few weeks will go by quick and the bundle will be smaller than expected.
