Here's a little New Year's toast to you! Thank you all for coming to read my little blog over the past year - it's been a lot of fun! Being a stay at home mom with a frequently traveling husband, there have been times when all of you out in blogland are the only adults I "talk" to on a given day!! And I also so appreciate all of the inspiration I've found on so many blogs myself! In the new year I hope to be a little better at keeping up with this blog than I've been at times this fall - but with the new baby coming I may be kidding myself! We'll see! Here's to hoping, anyway! So how did I spend my rockin' New Year's Eve last night? In the stamp room! DH had some football he wanted to watch, so that was PERFECT, because I wanted to stamp and it made me feel less guilty. I didn't think I'd make it to midnight Central time, so at 11pm (midnight on the eastcoast!) DH came and got me from the stamp room & we watched Dick Clark (wow was I surprised to see him!) drop the ball and we toasted the new year with some sparkling grape juice! Then he watched some crazy man do some motorcycle jump in Vegas, and I returned to my stamp room for a bit longer to finish another card. Turns out I *was* able to make it to midnight afterall - aaah, the power of stamping! This is a card I made for a friend's upcoming birthday - he enjoys a cold one, so I turned to the idea I've used on masculine cards in the past - making beer mugs out of the Treat Yourself set! This time the glasses are clinking and they are shouting a strong German "prost!" - this friend loves German beers and spent some time living in Germany a while back. I couldn't actually remember the German term for "cheers" (preggo brain!) so I did a quick Google search and found
this fun site if you're ever needing to know how to toast in other languages! LOL! So far I'm doing quite well with my resolution to send cards to the people on my calendar - this is another person who's never received a card from me and will probably be quite shocked - and that's fun! Take care everyone, enjoy your day, cheer for Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl and thanks for stopping by! :-)

Happy 2008! Love your card. We played XBox 360, drank sparkling cider and watched Dick Clark drop the ball. The older I get, the less exciting I am. Hope you have a happpy, healthy new year with lots of time for stamping! :)

What a super idea for a New Year's card! I know I've seen your fabulous beer mugs before and loved them. This one is perfect for the occasion. Last night my husband and I watched a rented DVD and then I worked on some baby shower invitations while he played a computer game. We definitely don't party like we used to but I feel so much better the next day now.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and your family, Libby!!
ReplyDeleteLove your fun card!! It looks fantastic, and I love the colors!!
Happy New Year, Libby!!! I just love the foam coming down your mugs -- fabulous!!! I stamped last night as DH slept on the couch -- didn't even attempt to watch the New Year roll in on the TV -- what a pair, huh??? LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteToo neat! Great idea for making the mugs of foamy beer! Happy New Year!
