I did it!

So it turns out the Sew Mini is as easy as people claimed! I sewed!! This is my very first attempt - it's certainly not perfect, so don't look too closely! But I did it! Woohoo! I made this card tonight as a "prototype" to show a friend, who's asked me to make thank you cards for her daughter's birthday party (you may remember I made her invitations as well). She told me to keep it simple - she's concerned about me "doing too much" in the final month of my pregnancy. Frankly, sitting on my bottom stamping really isn't doing too much - but one thing that's becoming an issue is my stupid carpal tunnel - it is starting to flare up again, thanks to pregnancy swelling. So annoying!! So, the card is sorta simple, but at the same time, will probably take me quite a while to make 17 of these puppies (assuming she likes it!). But on the bright side - after doing 17 of them, I think I'll be an expert cardstock seamstress! :-) I also used another one of the recent additions to my stamp room tonight - my Nestabilities! I used them for the black scallop circle. I didn't use the regular circle for Minnie's head, I used my SU punch instead. The stamp has a circle that stamps around the image in black (if you are using black ink) and I didn't like the look of it - the SU punch chopped it off perfectly - it was too hard to line it up perfectly with the Nestabilities. I used the SU slit punch to make the bottom scallop border. I'm concerned that will give me more issues than anything when making 17 of these - it got stuck as I was finishing up this row. I'm going to go to town on it with some wax paper and hopefully that will improve the situation! Please don't look too closely at this card - there are a zillion imperfections - when I make a "prototype" I do things and then pull it apart and do something else, or have zero patience to wait for ink to dry (darn white craft ink!) not to mention stickles - so it's pretty sloppy work. But since it was my first time sewing I had to post it anyway! :-) Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of your weekend!
