It's bluebonnet time in Texas!!

You may look at this and think "why a glittery bluebonnet?" and all I can say to that is "why NOT a glittery bluebonnet??!" Actually this is just me playing with my new chunky sprinkles glitter from the SU Occasions Mini - love it! But who am I kidding, I've never met a glitter I don't love! This card is super duper simple, maybe even boring for some, but I rather like how it turned out. I *had to* keep it simple though because it's already past 1:30am and I am so going to regret this when Courtney wakes up in a bit! I was determined to stamp tonight - but I got a really late start because I was also determined to get caught up on posts in my Reader - and I did!! Woohoo!!! Didn't leave as many comments as I would have liked, but I did a whole bunch of lurking. :-) It feels so good to be caught up again, I feel so out of touch when I'm not blogging. Example: Stamping Bella now has cute little fairies?!?! HELLO! Why didn't someone call me and tell me that? LOL. So back to the card - this is also my take on this past week's Sketch Challenge on SCS (SC170). That's right ladies and gentlemen, I completed a challenge while it was still "current"! That feels good too! (I just realized it's late at night so the new color challenge may be up by now - hmm - should I look?? Or will that tempt me to go back into the stamp room rather than to bed...!?!) The bluebonnet stamp is one I picked up several years ago at my LSS - it's by a local stamp artist named Joyce Meyer. If you're not a Texan and are not really familiar with bluebonnets - they are beautiful wildflowers that pop up this time of year and make us all happy that spring has arrived! Spring is my favorite time of year in Texas (in Michigan I loved fall the best!) - I've always loved looking at the bluebonnets and taking photos in them - but it's even more fun now that I have kids!! Take care y'all, thanks for stopping by today!

  1. I think this card is great! Love the unclutterred layout. You and Carter look to be having a ball in the bluebonnets, and Courtney, well ... zzzzzzzzz. (Or is that why you're so happy??) :)
