It's nice having my mom here visiting for many reasons - but one is that she completely oohs and aahs over every single card I make, even ones I don't think are that great! When I was posting
my Verve star card the other day, she was going a bit nuts for it - she has a thing for stars anyway. She saw my
Great Expectations sentiment set on the table and ooh'ed and aah'ed over that too - she said "this 'guess you're pretty hot stuff now' saying would be great to send to my friend who just got cast as a fairy in a play"*, so I said "I have multiple fairy stamps too, you know" and so this card was born. And when it was finished she ooh'ed and aah'ed once again. My head is getting rather big with this biased fan in my house!! By the way - as I've mentioned she's staying in my stamp room. She kept saying "I want to make a card while I'm here" and I kept saying "you are sleeping in my stamp room, help yourself!" - well, I believe she's now created THREE cards!! Go mom! She
goes to bed early which really means she goes in there and stamps!! *hmpf* I'm trying not to be jealous! Actually, she's going away to Corpus Christi for the weekend with my sister (she's never seen the ocean - but she's from Michigan - I've tried to explain to her that the Great Lakes are prettier than the Gulf at Corpus anyway but she needs to see for herself) (sorry if I've offended any Gulf fans out there! You need to visit northern Michigan on Lake Huron or Lake Michigan and see for yourself!!) so I have big plans to stay up until the wee hours tonight in my stamp room!!! Yeah!! Thanks for stopping by - have a great weekend!

* My mom and many of her friends are involved in community theater - mom is currently president and directs shows for my hometown community theater group (Clio Cast & Crew), which my grandma helped start back in the 70s. All through my childhood I was going to shows, rehearsals, working backstage (no way would I ever be brave enough to be ON stage!!) Not everyone in my family stamps, but I'm from a long line of very creative people!! Someday soon I should show you my cheese box that my grandma painted for me!!!!
** ACK!! I just visited Stamping Bella to look up the name of that stamp (since it's in my stamp room and my mom is still asleep...!) and I see they have several MORE adorable fairies that I NEED!! Why can't these darn stamp companies stop producing cute new stuff for a little while so my bank account can have a little break???
Awwww. This is so sweet! I love the dew drops. Thank you for your super nice comments. You can move in anytime. XO, Mimi

ReplyDeleteFun post, Libby! Sounds like you are having a wonderful visit with you mom. The card is absolutely adorable (no bias here just the truth) and perfect for her friend.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! That is such an adorable image. Love the dew drops you added too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling card!! Love the dew drops and your coloring!! So glad to hear you've got your mom stamping - how fun is that! I've never seen Lake Michigan, but I've heard its beautiful. Corpus to me is not attractive at all, I think you have to go all the way to Florida to find a really nice beach! Anyway hope they have a good time and that you get some extra stamping time in!
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't post on this before I left for my trip. This is so very cute! I love it!
