If you need a good laugh... have you ever seen Cake Wrecks? LMAO. I love it.
So... I made an ambulance cake for my sister's birthday and I was going to post it, but now I'm afraid to, for fear it would end up on Cake Wrecks. LOL.
On a more serious note - if you like looking at gorgeous, incredible cakes (I do!), check out this site that my friend Leslie shared with me. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! My personal favorite is the Tom Jones cake. Too fun!
Ok, what the heck - here's my ambulance cake! Isn't it cute? It's sort of embarrassing, posting it after telling you to look at those amazing cakes, I'm clearly not a professional (and I had to make this with all of my "good" decorating supplies packed away in storage!), but it's not really a "cake wreck" either. It's just silly, because my sister has nothing to do with ambulances whatsoever. They are just my son's current obsession. We had this conversation: "Carter, want to make a birthday cake with mommy for Aunt Laura?" "YES!" "What kind of cake should we make?" "An ammmbuuulance cake!!!!" So, we did. And being the awesome aunt she is, Laura *loved* it because Carter loved it.
I have some cards I could show you but I'm too tired. I actually fell asleep, sitting up, while nursing Courtney earlier! I had planned to work on cleaning up my new stamp space tonight but I'm too tired for that too. So then I was going to just sit my butt on the couch and listen to the Olympics while attempting to get caught up on the blogs in my Reader (I'm currently 1000+ behind, sorry about my lack of comments!!) but instead I got all side-tracked at Cake Wrecks and accomplished nothing, but had a lot of good laughs. Which, sometimes, is just perfect. That reminds me of something else I wanted to say, but I'll put it in another post since it's unlikely anyone is reading to the end of this one anyway... ;-)

That is a funny blog! TFS!
ReplyDeleteOMG -- LOVE that blog!!! How funny -- definitely keeping my camera around and will be on the lookout at the grocery store from here on out! Thanks for sharing it w/ me.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think you have fab potential as a decorator. Wherever did you get that cake pan?!
I read to the end, so be careful what you put there if you think no one is reading! Ha! They say laughter is the best medicine. Sounds like it was just what you needed. I am headed there now. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh Libby! I'm almost embarrassed to say that I looked at every cake on this blog......what a perfect way to start the day! I LOVED it!!! Hahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteMany Blessings,

What a cute cake! And I LOVE that cake wrecks blog! Thank you for sharing, I am sitting here cracking up after a VERY rough mommy morning, it's just what I needed.
ReplyDeleteI will have to check out that site....my cakes are probably there...lol! I love your cake, and wouldn't even attempt anything like that!
ReplyDeleteOh My Gosh!!!! I just went to that blog and tears are streaming down my face and my tummy hurts from LAUGHING...SO...HARD! Thanks for the tip! Bwaaahahhahhaaaaaa!
ReplyDeleteWell, I just spent as much time at Cake Wreck as I did at Pink Cake Box the other day. One is hilarious and the other is incredible! Funny, I kept getting card ideas at Pink Cake Box... I certainly wouldn't call your cake a wreck. Now, if I tried to make an ambulance cake it would be a different story. I'll bet the folks at Cake Wreck could make some pretty funny implications about an ambulance cake for a 30th birthday, though. I know you made Carter happy and that made Laura happy, too.
