Today was a super duper fun day!!! First I'll tell you about my card (which, btw, is not nearly as crooked IRL!!) - I got some new rubber today, and wanted to ink it up! This yummy margarita is from
Rubbernecker Stamps. I played along with
Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #62 for the layout. The card is pretty self explanatory, and anyway I'm too excited to talk any more about the card, I have to tell you what I did today!! A few nights ago I was trying to catch up on my blog reading (who am I kidding, I will never be caught up!) when I noticed on
Sherry Cheever's blog that she was headed to Texas to work the Rubbernecker booth at the San Antonio Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo. Well!! That's just down the road a bit from me, so I decided I *had to* go and stalk, errr, I mean, MEET her! And I did - and she was sooooo nice!! I also got to watch her demo a few things, and of course that ended up costing me a small fortune - I now own quite a few fun Ranger products, which hopefully you will see here in the coming days (if I can remember what I saw today and actually do the techniques myself!). I also got to meet
Bev Gerard (TexasGrammy) and
Joan Ervin - so neat! THEN OMG YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED!!! I was watching one of the ladies do a demo when up walks The One And Only
Jenn Balcer!!! I actually gasped outloud, but I don't think she heard me. :-) I was standing there trying to summons the courage to introduce myself to her, when she heard me mention my name to one of the other ladies, and actually said "Libby!!" and ran over and gave *ME* a hug. At that point I nearly passed out. It was all very exciting. Turns out she's incredibly sweet - just as you'd suspect from reading her blog (and what all the others say about her!). She also loooooves babies, and held Courtney for a little bit while I continued shopping. LOL. I had to do the groupie thing and take some photos, here's me and Jenn (Jenn is the beautiful, fabulous one, I'm the frump in the green shirt):
This is me and BadSherry - Sherry says posing like this is supposed to make you look thin, but somehow I ended up with extra chins (*sigh*):
And here is Sherry, Jenn and Courtney. Someday Courtney will realize what amazing stampers she is posing with. Today she just wanted to eat Jenn's necklace.
I didn't get any photos with Bev or Joan - I'm pretty shy so it took all the courage I had to get the few photos I ended up with. Bev was so nice though and helped be the photographer for the photos I'm in. I also ran into my new SCS friend Christy (christy1807), who I met at the Austin swap and who is coordinating one in San Antonio in January. She and I will both be serving hot dogs to our families for the next couple weeks after spending all of our grocery budgets on rubber stamps today...! :-)
YAY! Super fun day.
