You all know
Michelle Zindorf, right? She is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! The things that woman can do with a brayer, WOW. Not only that, but she is an incredibly generous person too - not that I've ever met her, but just from reading her blog - nearly every single blog post is a very detailed tutorial so that you, too, can
do the Zindorf. But I should note, she does not tell you to
do the Zindorf, I just made that up. LOL Anyway... she recently did a
tutorial using a
FireCracker Designs by Pamela snowman, and I *loved* how it turned out. I don't own that same snowman, so I decided to give it a go with my sweet snowgirl from "
Gifts of Love". Now you have to understand - I have major brayer phobia, and just generally don't think of myself as someone who can "create a scene" while stamping. But man - Michelle's tutorial made it sooooo easy, even I could do it! The only dilemma I had was that she colors her image with Prisma markers, and I have Copics, so I had to strain myself trying to figure out which markers to use to copy her as exact as possible. LOL! I also made some boo boos... she had me go over the stamped & colored snowgirl with my Versamarker (something that's been in my stash for a loonnnggg time and never touched!) and then clear emboss - well I wasn't as careful with the Versamarker as I should have been, so there was an edge of vanilla paper showing around the image after I brayered (KWIM?). I tried to compensate with white gel pen but it ended up looking rather goofy around her hat. Which I'm sure I shouldn't be pointing out to you!! LOL Ok, I confess, I worked on this card for a lonnngggg time last night, but mostly due to my goofs that I had to fix! At any rate, I had a LOT of fun with this, and may even be brave enough to try another of her tutorials sometime. And I definitely encourage you to do the same!! Thanks for stopping by today!

Never point out your mistakes Libby. I didn't notice anything except how lovely of a job you did!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! I don't own a brayer yet because I am not sure if I would use it. LOL!
ReplyDeleteAmazing indeed! I have always wanted to try one of her tutorials...this is stunning!
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of her before, but now I am amazed at how talented she is. She makes it all look so easy! I meant to tell you the other day--I liked the sneak peak for Courtney's Closet. You should do that every week, even if you don't give out a prize for guessing. Also, you're gonna make me be really creative this week (if I get time to play along) because I don't have any monkey stamps (yet)!
ReplyDeleteThe colors in this are so vivid! I love how this turned out.
ReplyDeleteYour Zin background looks amazing, Libby!! I love that adorable snowman as well!! Love this!!
ReplyDeleteI've not yet had the courage to try one of her tutorials; but after seeing your card am seriously considering it! Beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteI'm speechless!! Your colouring is amazing!!
