From Courtney's Closet #33 - an inspiration challenge

So what do you think Courtney is saying in this photo?? Is it "Oy vey, Mommy, why are you so slowwww to post this today?" or maybe "Oy vey, what on earth is this THING on my HEAD??" or perhaps "Oy vey, is that the best card you could come up with???". Well I'm sorry Courtney but it's about time you learned a life lesson - your mommy is no Debbie Olson, and sometimes she tries and tries and this is just the best she can do!! LOL! I'm not thrilled with today's card, but I officially give up! So I guess if YOU have a tough time with this week's outfit, I won't blame you ONE BIT! I tried mimicking the pattern in Courtney's dress using my PTI Green Thumb flowers. I love the sweet sentiment, it's from Hambo's December release. I don't know, I guess the card isn't *that* bad, but I just had visions of something better, you know? Blah. I may have to try THIS one again later too!! (I still want to redo last week's as well!!). So anyway - if you're inspired this week, please let me know by posting a comment with your link back here on this post. There was some WONDERFUL stamping this past week, including two newbies, which I *LOVE*!!! First up was Jenn, who left me THE SWEETEST comment and played along with this beautiful card. I love how soft and sweet those flowers look! And she says it was her first challenge EVER!! I am so honored!!!Next was Angie, and I just love her fun card. The colors are fantastic, and I love those pearls in the centers of her flowers. I'm so thrilled that you played along this week Angie!!I've missed my sweet Kim (my fellow Carter's-aholic!) and was soooo glad to see her post this fun card. I love the color combo she used!I LOVE LOVE LOVE what Sue did this week - inspired by Courtney's jeans, she made the cutest pocket card!! That's real stitching on there, and she copied the pattern on her real jeans. And I just love the little lacey bit peeking out of the top!But my favorite this week was Maria! She was inspired by the jeans too - and went just a step further and destroyed some of her own jeans in the spirit of making a card! Yay! LOL! This is actually what I was thinking of doing if I had ever gotten around to making my other card, and I just love how Maria's turned out. And those little flowers she used are just perfect too to copy the pattern in Courtney's jeans.Well thanks so much ladies for playing this week, and thanks everyone else for stopping by today! It's been a little emotional rollercoaster of a day at my house. My dad called first thing this morning to say my mom had a heart attack last night. Later the doctors decided it wasn't a heart attack but an angina attack. We're still waiting to understand what that means exactly, and what the next step is. For the most part she seems to be doing fine - but it's just really hard being in Texas when all of this is happening way up in Michigan. And the thought of it all seems to have sucked my mojo right out of me. We'll see if I can find it again later tonight!

  11. Hi Libby. I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I can imagine that it is SO HARD being far away, especially when you don't know exactly what is going on. You and your family will be in our thoughts today.
On a lighter note, I love your card, silly. I stared at it forever, before reading, thinking to myself 'wow, I can't believe she found the perfect patterned paper to match Courtney's dress!!'. But I really like the card, the wide satin ribbon and the rhinestones are the perfect touch. It is so bright and happy.
I plan to play along and will try and post soon.

  12. I love your card! I can't believe you don't like it. I must say I was surprised that a pin wasn't somehow incorporated into the flower. Maybe that would make you happier with it? It is very Nancy. :) I LOVE Courtney's dress and bandana. That is what that is, right?
