I think this just may be one of my favorite
From Courtney's Closet weeks so far. I mean, first of all, would you just look at my baby girl?? We were playing dress-up! Ok, so maybe *I* was playing dress-up, and she was my
victim. :-) (and Carter was playing dress-up too... trying on one of Courtney's purple & white polka-dotted diaper covers, my high heel sandals, and a fireman hat, but that's a whole other story...!) But isn't Courtney just the cutest little princess EVER? And then... this card... I actually LOVE this card!!! I haven't been able to
say that the past couple weeks. I just love fantasy stuff - dragons, knights, sorcerers, unicorns, magic - I don't read fantasy books, I don't play roleplaying games - but for whatever reason I still just love this stuff! So as soon as I saw
FireCracker Designs by Pamela's "She Dreams" set, I knew I had to have it!! I wish you could see all the sparkle and shine this has - I went a little nutty with the Stickles on her, lots of Star Dust on her dress, sleeve and scarf of her hat, and Silver on her hat and shoes. I also love how I did the sentiment - I make that sort of banner for my sentiments quite often, and I usually end up trying to trim it by hand and it ends up all crooked and wonky looking - well today I made it intentionally crooked and wavy, and I love the look of it! The paper is from the DCWV "Once Upon A Time" mat pack - I also knew I needed that paper once I had these stamps! Dang, this card is so much prettier
IRL - I hate it when that happens!! I am *so* getting one of those little light box thingies, my photos are driving me crazy lately! But anyway... I actually have two other stamp sets that I could have used for this card as well, so I REALLY hope to make more cards this week inspired by this sweet dress-up dress! I hope you're inspired too - if you are, make a card and then comment back here and let me know where to find you! I had a tough time with my challenge
last week, but *nine* of you wonderful stamper chickies created fantastic projects based on Courtney's bright and summery little dress! (I'm doing this post LATE at night - sorry it's taken me so long to post today - anyway I am super tired, sorry I haven't commented on your blogs yet, I'll be back to do that sometime soon!). First up is
Anita - I love her fun card - can you believe she found those notecards printed like that to match the dress so well!?? (actually, Katie found them!) Anita enhanced them and came up with this adorable card:
And speaking of
Katie - she made the *cutest* purse with her Top Note die!!
The card
Chris made is so cheerful and fun, all of those flowers are just perfect for this dress!
Berenice's card is just adorable - love that sweet little girl floating in those flowers!
Stacey made a perfect bright and cheery card with the Petal Pizazz stamps - fun!
Sharon's card is really excellent - she also found great DP for this dress and then colored a lovely flower for the main image. And I learned from her you can use Goo Gone instead of OMS when blending colored pencils?!?! I had no idea!
Sue made this super sweet frame for her grand niece Ava. What a cutie!!!
I'm soooo excited that my friend and fellow Austinite
Nicola played this week! She also found awesome paper to use - and she didn't make just one, she made an entire set! You rock, Nic!
But my favorite - well, she's been my favorite in the past and I just LOVE her card again this week - the mega-talented
Karen!! I just love how she did the scoring on this card for the colorful flowers. Love it love it love it!!
Thanks SO MUCH ladies for playing along, seeing your interpretation of the outfit each week just makes my day!!! And it's especially fun when so many of you play! It makes me almost get bold enough to add a Mr. Linky for the challenge, but I know as soon as I do that it will be a week where one person plays and I'll feel like a complete dope! LOL! So, we'll just continue to do it the "old fashioned" way for now...! :-) Take care, and happy stamping!!

ReplyDeleteIt is 7am here on the east coast and I am getting ready to head to an ALL weekend scrapbooking, no kids, total paper, hotel pampering, a bit' of wine, fun filled weekend (ok, maybe I am not supposed to be so excited about leaving my fam for the w/e??!! ; ) ......and.....I stop by for a fast look and see I am your FAV for the week! Talk about getting my mojo all in a bunch! Thanks so much!
OK, and really.....Courtney is playin' with my emotions in her latest get-up! Ya know...I am the mother of a boy so I can hardly contain myself over her outfit!
Have a great weekend!! ; )

What a total cutie patootie! A true Princess indeed! Am working on my card right now. ~chris
ReplyDeleteOMG! I LOVE this card! Remember my birthday is 5 short months away when you think of what to do with this card. :) It is absolutely gorgeous. MAYBE I'll find time to participate this week, but although I have that paper, I don't think I have any fantasy like stamps. That is unbelievable!
ReplyDeleteJust GORGEOUS!! LOVE the bling, and those colors in that paper packet are MADE for this stamp set!! Your lil princess looks absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, it was delightful to meet Courtney in person. Absolutely precious! Your card is gorgeous and I know what you mean about IRL. When you use Shimmerz, Twinkling H2Os, and some bling, you just can't see the true beauty in a photo.

Beautiful card! This will be a fun challenge. I love seeing everyone's beautiful cards!
ReplyDeleteI love your card. I have a weakness for dragons and fantasy. I may have to try and do this one in between grading papers and do Girl Scout cookie booths.
ReplyDeleteYour card is so pretty, and your princess is precious!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a "whole other story" I'd love to hear. Boys and dress-up gotta love it. I LOVE your card, did you machine stich on it? Everything looks perfect in the pic.
ReplyDeleteHi, Libby! I just have to sit here and smile at Courtney in her princess outfit. She's like dressing up a little doll! Gosh, did you buy the outfit to match the card? It couldn't be more perfect. Really a pretty card!
ReplyDeleteLibby, this is a real stunner! The colors, distressed panels, stitching, bling - everything is just perfect!! And your little girl is so sweet! She matches the princess perfectly! What a Blessing! :o)

Here's my "pink" card Libby...What a sweeeeeeeeeeet outfit. I was looking back at all my FCCC cards the other day...it is so amazing to watch her grow...it wasn't that long ago that she was just this little chubby baby learning to rollover or sit up or walk....
ReplyDeleteHere's my card
Ok, your bad sister failed again to make a card, but I swear someday I'm going to go back and do all of the ones I've missed, along with all the Cinema Saturdays! One of these days I'll be have energy to stamp again, right?
