Tonight I thought I'd show you what's been occupying most of my stamping time the past couple days! A friend asked me to make invitations to her son's birthday party. She asked if I had any train stamps, because the party will have a Thomas theme. WELL! Not only do I have train stamps, but I have the one and only Thomas the Tank Engine himself!! This stamp (and the track background) are actually retired now from Cornish Heritage Farms. Sadly I missed the news that they were no longer going to be carrying their Thomas line, or I would have placed another order before they went away!! You know there's a certain three year old with a Thomas obsession in our house! But, the stamps I do have worked out perfectly for this invitation. The invitation is fairly simple and straightforward, but boy did it take me FOREVER to make these babies! Thomas is embossed in black, colored in with Copics, then cut out and popped up on foam tape. But I couldn't stop there - you can't tell in the photo but his face is stamped on another sheet of paper, embossed, colored, cut out and popped up once more! Have I ever mentioned I am TERRIBLE at designing cards for mass production? LOL! I do love how these turned out though. And I feel a little bad that Carter didn't have cute invitations like this for his own birthday party!! Oops. Well, just don't tell him, ok? He'll never know the difference.... :-) Ok I'm off to do a little more organizing before snapping some photos for the studio tour tomorrow. Have a great night and thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeletewonderful job Libby! my grandson, Zackary is a train fan since he was 6 months old. He'd have loved it if his Nana had made these cuties for his Thomas birthday party several years ago. I did make his cards but they were very simple postcards.
ReplyDeleteCute invite!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable! Do you think you could get away with not stamping the 1 and making it green or red for Percy or James as well, or is Carter too smart to fall for that?
ReplyDeleteSo FABULOUS -- LOVE the Thomas Train-- super cute! :)
ReplyDeleteOMG I had no idea they retired those!!! I wish I had known I would have ordered them all.
