Why I should use a Stamp-a-ma-jig...!

Today I share with you my Ode to the Stamp-a-ma-jig, and why I should use it.

Me: "I don't need no stinkin' SAMJ, I can just eyeball it, it will be fine!"

Reality: A crooked row of owls that would have been so much cuter if nice and straight.

You live and learn. Did I learn? Probably not, I detest messing with a SAMJ. But, I do know that I *should* use it...! :-)

This card is as close to Stampin' Up Only as I've come in ages! Just the DP is non-SU. Well, and of course the stitching too, but I think that is "allowed" and not considered "contraband". :-) The owl stamp was colored with a pink marker, and then the edge colored over with a caramel marker. Fun! Thanks for stopping by today.

  1. This is so funny!!! I'm a born eyeballer too. My mom hates when I hang curtains or pictures because I just eyeball it. The only exception to this rule is my stamp-a-ma-jig. I LOVE that thing ;)I use it on most of my cards.

  2. Libby, your card is cute! Because I'm a tad OCD (or maybe more than a tad), the Stamp-a-ma-jig is one of my favorite tools. I use it all the time!

  3. I don't own an SAMJ or see one in my near future...I'm an eyeballer like you. Much more difficult if the stamp isn't clear, but I never back down from a challenge!

When do owls sit in a perfect row anyway?

  4. I hate breaking out my SAMJ as well, but find it looks so much better when I use it. You can always use the white piece as a border :-)

  5. I'm with you....I am so an eyeballer but I love your card...super cute!!!

  6. Love your card Libby. I use the SAMJ and still can't everything straight. Then I wonder why I wasted the time. The whole point of making cards is that they aren't factory produced. If the recipient can't handle that he or she doesn't deserve the card in the first place (that was all a paraphrase from my 12 year old, who thinks that perfection is not for card making.) Again love the card. Hope you enjoyed Michigan.

  7. ahaha!! i love THIS CARD!!

And I always get schooled - I think my eyes are crooked!

    That DSP is adorable.

  8. Love the colors, stitching, and buttons!!

I always enjoy your comments - thanks so much for taking the time to leave one!
