SDC119: ATCs!!

It's time for another Stampotique Designers Challenge. This week our hostess Sam has challenged us to create ATCs! If this is a new term for you - ATCs are "artist trading cards" - little pieces of art you can trade if you'd like, or just hoard. Like I do. Whatever. But they measure a mere 2.5" x 3.5" - the size of a baseball card. So yup, I had to leave my 4.25" x 5.5" comfort zone and take it to a smaller scale this week! And I have to say, it was oodles of fun!

I wanted to use more of my Linda Peterson Hazel stamps - this time the mermaid, aka Ocean, called out to me! She fits rather perfectly on an ATC, doesn't she? I colored the rock and added color to the background with my Derwent Inktense pencils. Then I stamped Ocean again on white cardstock, colored with my Copics and trimmed. Yes, trimmed. Even around the itty bitty teeny tiny arms. Sometimes I just like to make my life difficult, it seems. HA! Those adorable little clouds are the Mini Clouds from Memory Box, oh how they make me squeal with their cuteness! The Ocean Text was stamped, trimmed apart, and attached to the card. I did a little doodling around the text and clouds. Once all parts were on the ATC, I glitzed up the mermaid's tail with some gorgeous, shimmery Diamond Stickles.

Fun stuff. I hope you'll create an ATC this week, too!

  2. I so love Hazel and all her charm, Libby, and you did her justice here with the glitzy fish scales! Love the contrast of those white wisps of clouds against that very vibrant blue! Well done!
