Yesterday was an exciting start to the Tour de France! Jens Voigt riding solo and earning polka dots (shut up legs!), Fabs trying to steal the sprint, Cavendish crashing out (noooo!), Kittel sprinting into yellow ("he's more than just a haircut"), The Royal Family, the absolutely incredible number of fans lining the roads of Yorkshire, the beautiful English countryside. (Yes, English. This year the "grand depart" of the Tour de France is taking place in England. The Tour de France isn't always strictly in France! Day 1 was Leeds to Harrogate, Day 2 is York to Sheffield and on Monday they ride from Cambridge into London, how awesome will that be??) But the thing that I loved most? THE SHEEP!!! The Tour went through a part of England known for their wool products. And as you may or may not know, yellow is the color of the Tour - it's the color the race leader wears. So of course - those crazy Brits went and dyed their sheep yellow!!! HA!!!

I mean really, how could I resist making a yellow sheep card?

I used my OWH Missing You set from Hero Arts - the expression of this adorable little sheep is kind of perfect as they look somewhat in shock that they are yellow. I spelled out "allez" (ie GO! in French) using the Typewriter Letters and drew the word bubble myself - of course those yellow sheep were cheering for the boys! The grass was made with some nifty fringe scissors. No, I don't know who I'd actually send this card to. LOL!! Sometimes it's just fun to be silly.

One of the many things I love about the Tour de France is all of the amazing roadside art that people create - always huge so the helicopters can film it. How awesome is this sheep??

And because the area loves their sheep, organizers asked the local knitting ladies of Harrogate to knit buntings to hang around town. Little hand-knit leader jerseys strung together. Craftiness at le Tour! Love this so much! These are some photos of my tv, sorry for the quality...

Yay sheep!! Can't wait to see what England shares with us today!
