Today I'm sharing a few cards I made when we were working on the catalog. Being the francophile that I am, it was love at first site when I saw the Ooh La La stamp set! In fact, I think that's exactly what I said, "Ooooh la laaaaa!".
I had fun watercoloring these fun images. I just stamped with Intense Black, and then used my Watercolor Dot Palette to do some fun, loose watercoloring. The touch of gray on the shirt for a little shadow helps to bring it to life.
Isn't this little poodle THE SWEETEST? I love it. That's why I had to add hearts! I stamped off with the heart stamp, to soften the look and to tie in well with the watercoloring.
Next is a card using the fabulous new Paper Layering Koi Fish die.
I love the texture and dimension you can get with this die! I only pictured the frame above, but there is a second die for creating all of the partial cuts. I cut it directly into my base paper, I didn't actually use that frame to cut it out. So he looks like he's coming right out of the paper. I colored with my Copics, and added some lily pads from the beautiful Color Layering Water Lilies set.
Next is a project I had fun with, once the catalog craziness was finished. I had picked up this canvas at the craft store, that was already pre-printed with text. I added a wash of Daniel Smith watercolor to it to start.
After it was dry, I added a gold embossed and watercolored Large Hydrangea. This is one of my favorite stamps in the new catalog. It's a big, beautiful woodblock stamp. And it has matching frame cuts, so it's easy to add dimension by die cutting the layers of the flower and stacking them up!
I added the "GIRLS ARE STRONG" message from one of my favorite stamp sets, Dare to Dream. I both stamped them lightly in the background, and also stamped and cut out the message on white paper, and glued it on.
And now it's time to hop!!
We will be giving away three $25 shopping sprees, drawn from comments left across all blogs in the hop. Please ask hoppers to comment by Tuesday, February 21st at 11:59pm PT and we'll announce the winner the following week.
