Today is launch day at Hero Arts! The October My Monthly Hero kit and add-ons are so much fun - they'll take you on an inky trip to the North Pole! I designed the projects for the landing page and slider over on the Hero Arts website, so I thought I'd share a closer look at them in my post today.
For this first card, I used the adorable little dog sled image and matching die from the kit. I also LOVE the background dies included in the kit for building scenes - a mountain range, a line of trees, and also a town (which I didn't use, yet!).
I did my coloring with Copic markers, and also added a little texture/interest to the background die cuts by blotting with some Copic Various Ink using a rag. The snowdrifts are easy to cut by hand.
There's a ton of cute little images in this large 6 x 8" stamp set, but one of my absolute favorites is this little gingerbread house that I used on the next card. Isn't it the cutest?
I stamped the house repeatedly on the background panel, and colored with my Copics. I didn't line them up perfectly, but I never care much about being perfect. But they are relatively easy to line up like this, using the slant of the roof to create a visual line as you're stamping. If that makes sense! I added some white dots with a gel pen. There's also a bit of glossy accents on the heart of the main die cut image, but it doesn't show in the photo.
For my final card, I combined more of the images with the Nesting Postage Stamps Infinity Dies. The red and white baker's twine from my stash goes well with the cute Christmas images.
It's a little difficult to see in the photos, but I stamped a bunch of the tiny snowflakes in the background using white Unicorn pigment ink.
These projects used only the stamps from the main kit, none of the fabulous add-ons, but I'll link all of the new products below. Here's a closer look at the entire kit:
And now, let's hop! Be sure to visit all of these blogs and leave comments - Hero Arts will be giving away one kit to a lucky commenter, selected from the comments left across all of the blogs in the hop. You have until Sunday, October 8 to get those comments in, and the winner will be announced at a later date on the Hero Arts blog.
