A slice of Cakeabella!

As soon as I discovered the sweet little Bellas, it was complete and utter love at first sight for me! I ordered a couple of them, but then let this one sit on the shelf - tonight is actually the first time I've inked up poor little Cakeabella! Isn't she cute? Love that crazy hair! I have trouble with their skinny little line-drawn arms though - never know if I should color them or around them or what. Tonight I did nothing. :-) I started out stamping tonight with the intention of doing last week's color challenge on SCS, so that's where the purple & green theme came from - but it turns out I really just don't like Vintage Violet paper very much. It's sort of too blah for me. I guess with the right mood it would work well, but Cakeabella needed some spunk, pizzazz and bling! :-) So in the end I went with the black card base, Certainly Celery DS paper from the Palette O' Prints, and a cute little purple felt flower ribbon I found for $1 at Jo-Ann, with a black brad added to the center of each flower. I colored Cakeabella with a combination of classic inks, watercolor crayons (black & gray) and a little Blush Blossom & Regal Rose marker on her face. The cake is white gel pen with some purple Stickles added (for that little bit of bling she wanted!). I added the little doodles around the image by hand. The Celebrate sentiment is from A Muse and stamped in Craft White. By the way, if you also love Bellas and haven't looked lately - check out the sweet new Veggiebella!! LOVE HER!! I am so tempted to order her and Winobella right after I post this... but alas, I will not. Maybe I'll just keep my fingers crossed for my birthday in August. Hmm wonder if Joel ever reads this blog??? (honey, just follow the link embedded up above...) (this is me doing wishful thinking as I type!) :-) Have a great Memorial Day tomorrow ya'll!

  1. I LOVE this card. What a cute bella! You are so good at watercoloring. I just can't do it. I guess that's because I was the one who always drew outside the lines in your coloring books. :)

    Happy Memorial Day!

  2. What a darling Bella card! Great find on that ribbon and to use the brads in the flowers--very cute! I love this great color combo, too.
