Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon?

Today's card is another two-fer! I played along with today's Sketch Challenge over on SCS (SC215) - a nice, easy sketch I'll have to file away for future use! But the main purpose of today's card was to play along with the latest Cinema Saturday challenge - in plenty of time before the deadline, for once!! This week the movie of choice is Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Now, I saw this film, ages ago when it was in the theaters. But since then my brain has gone through a lot of pregnancy-induced memory loss, and for the life of me I can barely remember it, other than the people fighting in the treetops. I know I liked the movie when I saw it, so I thought I'd go ahead and pick it up at the video store for another viewing, so I could find some true inspiration from the movie and not just make some generic Chinese-themed card. I went to the local Hollywood Video and started searching for it - first in drama, and then my brain worked well enough for me to realize it would be in the foreign films section. But it wasn't. I briefly thought "huh, checked out? is somebody else in my neighborhood viewing it for Cinema Saturday inspiration??" :-) but then went to the counter to inquire about it. The clerk punched it into the computer and got a confused look on his face. "Huh. This says it's checked out - and was due back in August of 2001!" *hmpf* So needless to say, there went my grand idea of watching the film for inspiration. And instead I present to you a generic Chinese-themed card! LOL! And actually now that I think about it - fortune cookies aren't even REALLY Chinese, they are an American invention! *sigh* But I did follow this week's rule to use red on my card, so that's something. :-) I used the same set today that I pulled out yesterday (gee, do you think it's because I have design team samples due? LOL) - Miso Cute from FireCracker Designs by Pamela. The patterned papers were all from my stash - I went to China a few years back and plan to eventually make a scrapbook about it (I was only there for 2 weeks on business but I packed in as much tourist stuff as possible - knowing it's not likely I'll ever make it back there in this lifetime!) (Ok I can't resist, I'm adding a photo of me being a tourist in China... LOL!) I added a touch of gold Stickles to the paper of the cookie, just 'cause. Alrighty, naptime is over so I need to get this posted and get back to Mommy-ing. Thanks for stopping by today! And come back tomorrow for the next From Courtney's Closet post and the announcement of the blog candy winner! Woohoo! There's still a few hours to get your name in that hat if you haven't already! :-)
