The FCD 2008-2009 Design Team Says Goodbye!

Can you believe my year as a member of the FireCracker Designs by Pamela design team is already coming to an end? Yup, that's right, it is! How quickly time flies when you're having fun! And not to mention when you're lucky enough to have the absolute honor and privilege of being on the design team of a wonderful company like FCD! To mark the end of a great year, the team is doing one last blog hop together - and can you guess our theme this time around? Of course we are all saying "farewell!" or "I'll miss you!". For my card I chose to use the fabulous new Elephants on Parade set - because they say an elephant never forgets, and I will certainly never forget my year as card designer for Pamela! Of course, my card doesn't exactly reflect that sweet sentiment now does it... LOL!! I couldn't resist using this expression from the set, because it completely cracks me up! And since I am NEVER on time with birthday cards, this is just soooo *me*! :-) I got out my brayer to create the background on this, thanks to another brayering lesson this afternoon from my pal Lydia! However, as I played with this card, I decided to cut it down from the panel I had originally brayered (or is it brayed, I don't know!) and it lost some of the drama of the sky. Oops! But I have to say I am really having fun with the brayer, so you'll hopefully see something soon with a wonderfully dramatic sky!! LOL! I added just a wee bit of colored pencil under the elephants to add some shadow, and all of the buttons were sewn onto the paper, which I'm finding makes them far more stable than using glue dots!

And now for the fun part of the hop - this time around Pamela has created a little scavenger hunt!! Follow the hop all the way around and you will get a bunch of letters for a code - put them together in order, with the letter from Pamela's blog being the start of the code, and you can use that code for 25% off your entire FCD order!!! (Note: this does not include magazine subscriptions) My code letter is "T". And not only that, as always Pamela is giving away blog candy to one lucky commenter on the blog of the "mystery hostess", so be sure to leave comments as you hop around so you're in the running for some rubber goodness! The hop ends on Monday, August 31 at 8pm EST.

And now... hop on over to the incredibly talented, SCS Dirty Dozen Superstar, all-around nice stamping phenom Julie and see what she'd been up to. I cannot wait to see myself because I just know it will be GORGEOUS!

And just so you know... I may have said at the start of this post that this marks the end of my FCD DT stint, but in reality I haven't shared a single card with my August DT set yet!! And you know why? Because it's a new set that will be released on September 1! But let me just say... I LOVE IT!!! It's another one I begged Pamela to make. AND SHE DID!! (I love her!) Can't wait to share it with you. Actually, I *won't* wait. I'll be back tomorrow with a sneak peek! YAY! And... I have some EXCITING FCD NEWS!! Make sure you visit Pam's blog today to find out what it is! :-) :-) :-) Thanks for stopping by today! :-)
