Hi.

Here's a card that was going to be many different things, before becoming what I'm sharing here today. Does that ever happen to you? I stamped and die cut some butterflies, then played and tinkered and sighed in frustration. And then finally I made this:

Not really what I thought it would be, but I like it. I wanted to play with my Hero Arts Butterfly set. I know I've been in polka dot mode for YEARS now, but what can I say, I still love them!! So I loooove that this set has a polka-dotted butterfly. And a coordinating set of dies, too? Awesome! My wise friend Leslie had the smart idea to put a vellum die cut on top of my polka dots. I love the dimension!

Thanks for stopping by,

  3. Gorgeous card Libby, the burlap is the perfect foil for the butterfly, and the ribbon is a great finishing touch.
I love putting vellum over coloured butterflies - I have done it a lot, sometimes using a solid coloured under layer and an embossed vellum layer, using the cuttlebug/provo craft die and matching embossing folders.
