November My Monthly Hero - Release + Giveaway!

It's another My Monthly Hero release day over at Hero Arts! Wow, can you believe they've been doing these kits for over a year now? Time flies when you're creating awesome kits! This month's kit took a fun DIY spin - there's a fabulous die for making do it yourself handmade ornaments (or gift boxes or treat boxes or advent calendars...!), but I used the other stamps and dies included in the kit, originally designed for decorating the sides of the ornaments.

When I saw all of the decorative triangles in development, I immediately had to suggest that they add a stump for those triangles to become trees! The stamps were designed to fit the entire sides of the diamond-shaped ornament, and the die is to make windows in the sides of the ornament, so it's smaller than the stamps. But that's no problem, you can just die-cut a smaller portion of the larger stamped triangle.

I used gold embossing powder on my little trees so this card has a lot of shine going on. The solid tree was cut from some glitter cardstock in my stash, and the gold card base is something I had on hand as well. I used one of my new favorite tools (even though it's not new!) to create the scallop border - Planner Page Edges. I'm a longtime scallop fanatic.

The little message strip was done with an optional add-on set to this month's kit called Little Messages Stamp & Cut. I really love that long, skinny banner die - I know I'll be using it all the time!

Here's a look at the main kit:

There's also another stamp & cut set called Number It, an adorable clear set Mini Christmas, and a completely fabulous Holiday Words Stencil that I cannot wait to play with!

I'm part of a fantastic blog hop today:
