Aloha my little Hula Girl!

Can I just say - WOW!! I am totally floored by how many people have come to visit my blog today! I absolutely have Leslie and Allison to thank for that - I could not have paid for better advertising than showing up on their awesome blogs! Thank you so much ladies!! I'm also a bit nervous now - this blog seemed less daunting when it felt like I was just sitting here at my computer talking to myself. But *many* more people actually subscribed today!! Oh my. Now I feel some pressure to post good stuff!! Well, I'll do my best! :-) Seriously, thanks everyone - it's been so much fun today, reading all of your comments. Such a great blast from the past!! I'll reveal some of my 80's faves on Sunday night when I draw the winner... :-)

Tonight I decided to play with my soon-to-be-retired Do the Hula set. Even though I love it, it's not one I'm particularly sad to loose from the catalog - I don't really ever demo it. I mainly bought it to use in my Hawaii scrapbook (which I still haven't started, btw!). But I do love this set, it's sooo cute! And as I was putting together my blog candy and looking at all of my sweet DCWV retro papers, this one called out to me "use me, use me, put me with your little Hula Girl!". So, as always, when the papers talk, I have to listen! (or seek professional help... but for now I'd rather just listen to them and start stamping!) :-) I used my Karen Foster snap stamps to spell out "aloha" - I just LOVE these stamps!!! I never line up letters very well - if I'm spelling something out, I either have to cut the letters out individually, or go for the "intentionally crooked" look! (or pull out my stamp-a-ma-jig, but ugh, I'm too lazy!) (Umm, yes, because cutting out the letters is just so much easier - that would be Libby logic!) So snapping these babies together to make your word is so cool! But I'm thinking this may have actually looked a little better if "aloha" was turned in the other direction, facing the hula girl - and I *almost* redid the entire card to test that theory - but decided that would be just silly. :-) But I have to say, playing with this set makes me long for a trip to the islands! Or at least a pina colada... ;-)
