ERIN, who said:
So many... But UB40, Bryan Adams and the Bangles all take me right back to those awkward teenage years.
Isn't that the truth! :-) Thanks to everyone for leaving your comments - they were soooo much fun to read! It looks like some of the clear favorites were Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Journey and Pat Benatar! The 80's were a long decade, and I actually cycled through many faves! My very first love was Rick Springfield (HELLO! Dr. Noah Drake!)... I also loved Hall & Oates, and Maneater was the very first (of MANY) tapes I ever bought. Then Michael Jackson's Thriller came along and I was all about wearing one glittery glove and trying to do the moonwalk. And of course Madonna made me crazy for gummy bracelets, and convinced me to set aside my glittery glove for a black lacey half glove! But I have to say my all time favorite has to be DURAN DURAN!! I was in 6th grade when I first saw Hungry Like the Wolf on Friday Night Videos, and it was all over! Ahhh, the 80's. What a decade! Erin, send me an email at stampinlibby at gmail dot com with your address, and I'll get your goodies in the mail to you!
So after my candy post, I decided I really had to borrow the Duran Duran stamp from my friend Diane (the biggest Duran Duran fan on the planet!) and make something with it! I hadn't done any of the SCS challenges last week (slacker!) so I chose to try the sketch challenge. The four repeating squares sort of reminded me of an Andy Warhol painting, so that was my inspiration (plus there's only so much you can do with an old Duran Duran stamp, really!). The colors are a bit unusual, but I took the queues from this polka dotted ribbon from Michael's. I planned to add a sentiment to the front, but couldn't come up with anything, so this card is just sentiment-free. I had fun with it! :-)
- Stamps: Diane's totally cool Duran Duran stamp
- Paper: Chocolate Chip, Cool Caribbean, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
- Ink: So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Cool Caribbean, Chocolate Chip
- Accessories: Michael's ribbon, Cuttlebug
Congrats to the winner!
