Anyone remember this stamp set? (Ok, it wasn't THAT long ago...!) Did anyone besides me even BUY this stamp set? It was actually love at first sight for me when I saw this in the catalog. And actually, I still love it - it survived my massive stamp purge this past fall unscathed. I decided to ink it up this week for my brother's birthday card. He hasn't received it yet, but I would be massively shocked if he saw it posted here - he can respect the fact that I have a blog (he is a long-time computer geek!) but he doesn't understand the whole stamping thing. Not sure it's even worth spending a lot of time on a card for him. Ah well. What's done is done. And at least my sister will appreciate it. ;-) So let's see, some details about the card... first of all, I embossed the image with Chocolate Chip craft ink & clear EP. I always forget I can do that - get whatever color embossing I want with the crafts! Duh! I chose the initial Cool Caribbean (another blast!) and Chocolate Chip color scheme because it matched a ribbon I was planning to use on the card - but somehow the ribbon got tossed aside. Instead I used MAGIC MESH!! Huh? I haven't pulled that stuff out in ages. But
Leslie told me that I need to use the stuff I already own. And I am doing as she says. :-) (And FYI - I made a purchase tonight that basically means I CANNOT buy another stamping thing for a lonngggg time - you'll see what I'm talking about soon!) (Disclaimer: Except for my SU SAB order that I've been planning on for over a month now... LOL! But nothing after that, no matter how much
Nichole and
Ellen and
Monica and
Kim and
Em insist on tempting me...! And all their evil little blogging minions (aka design team enablers) who constantly throw it all in my face... I must be strong!!) Hmm. Guess I digressed a little there. What was I saying? Ah yes, the card. One other cool thing to note on this card is the SAND at the bottom!! I found some Stampendous "golden sand" embossing powder at Archivers!! How cool is that?? My plan is to someday create something beachy with it - but for now I liked it on this fishy card. Thanks for stopping by - I need to hit the hay - stayed up for a midnight release tonight when I was ready to fall asleep around 9pm!!! **yawn**

I don't remember this set at all! I love the card though!!!
ReplyDeleteMy friend bought this set and I was tempted, too, but decided I didn't have to have EVERYTHING. I love what you did with it, including the mesh and the beachy embossed border. Also the Cuttlebug swirls. It all came together perfectly! I'm glad you were inspired to get out some of your old stuff. It still looks absolutely fabulous today and was a true delight to see it here!
ReplyDeleteI bought that stamp set too! I LOVE it! Love your card with it!
