I made this card to send to my friend Lina, to thank her for giving us a box of her incredibly delicious & beautifully made chocolates! I just put it in the mail yesterday, so I'm not entirely sure she's received it yet - but I'm also not so sure she checks my blog religiously, so I think it's probably safe to post. Sorry Lina if you're seeing it here before finding it in your mailbox! (I guess this is a
Carole-style test! LOL!) Lina's business is called
Lina's Cocoa Couture, and never fear, if you don't live in Austin, SHE SHIPS!! :-) Lina makes some really unique flavors -
the most unusual (in my opinion) being lavender! And when she's trying out a new flavor, often times she brings it by to get my & Joel's opinion of it! LUCKY US!! This was the first time I saw Lina's new packaging, and I knew immediately that I had to send her a thank you card using my D'vine Swirls
Cuttlebug embossing folder!! I had intended for the card to end up looking quite like her box, but it decided to go in a bit of a different direction. I'm not sure where the green came from! Well ok, I do know - it was the little tiny bit of green marker I used on the leaves on the chocolate - but I didn't originally intend for the card to end up with that much green. But what can I say - I love purple & green together! And then throw in a bit of Chocolate Chip - and all I can say about this color combo is YUM!! :-) One thing that you probably can't see very well in the photo - I added Diamond Stickles not only to the flower on the chocolate, but also to the brads! They ended up looking sort of like a homemade version of Making Memories
Shimmer brads - pretty cool! And a quick baby update before I go - still nothing happening on that front. Guess she's holding out for Groundhog's Day! (The idea of her due date being Groundhog's Day has not been a pleasant one for me - although of course finally bringing her into the world will be a wonderful & joyous day, I do not want to relive labor over and over again, like in the movie! LOL!) Thanks for stopping by today!

ReplyDeleteLove that card you made for her!
I hope your little one comes soon. I am sure you are ready to meet her. I didn't even have time to adjust. One day I had this huge belly and the next day it was gone. I am glad he is here and doing great. I will keep checking to see how things are going with you.
You did a fantastic job with your card! Your swirls folder is so perfect, and I think the green looks great with the purple! Yummy chocolates!!!
ReplyDeleteThose chocolates are miniature pieces of art! Your card is just *perfect* to go with them. Libby! Here's hoping things start moving on the baby front!
ReplyDeleteOoooooh, this is yummy! I love your scallop-square-scallop layout, and the swirls are perfect! I'm wondering what lavender tastes like...
