Time to Celebrate my Blogoversary!!!

And here it is - the long awaited blogoversary post!!! I said I'd post on Wednesday - and, well, it's still Wednesday where I'm at for another half hour...! Sorry I'm so slow, it's been a really crazy few days! But more on that later... first my card. I had to make a celebratory card to go with my celebration post. This cute image & sentiment are from a Wordsworth set I won as blog candy myself on Debbie's blog a while back. I love that Jane Austen quote! And of course I had to bling up my card - the little gal is wearing a super sparkley party dress! I also used some clear glaze pen on her green appletini but you can't see it in the photo. I used more of my SU taffeta ribbon - I just love that stuff! And I couldn't resist adding a straight pin - it's definitely an addiction I have, along with the glitter and bling! (And the pins are all Nancy's fault, I just LOVE how she uses them!) The colors are this week's challenge on Splitcoast (CC163 - Certainly Pretty Chocolate!) and the layout started out as this week's sketch challenge (SC173) but I strayed a little. I added my cool new watermark that Dina designed for me. I still have a few more things I want to add to my new & improved blog template but I haven't had a chance yet...

Ok and now what you're really here for... the blog candy! Yummy!! I have a couple extra MFT sets to offload, plus a few of *my* favorite things... some pearls, dew drops, some swarovski crystals and a little assortment of safety pins and straight pins (I've been collecting them...!) Oh and of course my favorite thing of all - some Stickles!! I somehow ended up with two things of copper Stickles, don't ask me how! And for kicks I threw in a few little SU stamps and an edge distresser. To win this candy, I'd like you to do one of two things (or both!) - I wanted to come up with a cute name for my blog candy that fits my addiction theme, but I am drawing a blank. Can you help me come up with something???? Or, tell me what you're most addicted to in the stamp room. Honestly I'm not sure what my biggest addiction is - I love so many things - glitter, ribbon, brads... the list goes on and on. I'm a true addict! :-)

I really can't believe it's been over a year since I started this blog!! I totally did it on a whim one night. I had really just discovered exactly how wonderful Splitcoast was (even though I've been a "user" since 2005... I was slow to actually realize what an amazing resource and community it is!) And then I discovered that people actually have stamping blogs!! I didn't even know what a blog was at that point (yes I am even slower than you thought...!). But after looking at them for a bit, I went for it, thinking it was cheap entertainment and the only ones who would ever look at it were my sister and maybe a couple friends. Boy was I shocked, and nearly peed my pants, when the two comments I got on my very first post ever were from two Stamping Legends (hee hee), Beate and Debbie!!! OMG! My hubby had no clue why I was bouncing off the walls, but I totally was. Since then I've met so many other wonderful people through blogging - I am SO GLAD I started this little blog totally on an impulse!!
Ok in closing I have to share one other photo - if you've been following along you know I've been working like a mad woman to get our house ready to sell. Well it's going on the market tomorrow afternoon!! Eeek! Wish us luck. The photographer came yesterday to take photos for our virtual tour, and I need to share the one of my stamp room. It looks soooo pretty and neat and clean. This is a rare occurrence, I am typically a Stamping Slob. You know, a messy desk is the sign of a creative mind... or something like that...! Anyway I'm glad there's photographic proof that it once looked like this... Mind you, part of why it's so neat and clean is because half of my stuff (and nearly all my stamps!!) are boxed up and being stored at my sister's...!

Ok this is a record-long post, so I'll stop boring you now (WAKE UP!!). Leave a comment for the candy by Sunday at 9pm CST - I'll draw a winner then. Thanks for stopping by!!

  1. well, I was gonna say call your goodies LSD (Lasting Stamping Drugs) but that is lame. It's what happens at 2 AM with stomach pangs from not eating and too much work.

so what do I like in a stamp room (besides being able to actually find what I am looking for?) The multitude of colors one can find at your fingertips. I am glad the world is not black and white.

  2. My addiction in my stamping room...ribbon (I have them hung on the walls) and DP (my table is currently covered in it...I am "organizing" it).

A name for your addiction? Hmm...one of my fav words is "craftastrope"...I don't know if that would work though!

  3. My addiction is ribbon, ribbon, ribbon. :D Happy Blogaversary!

  4. You can call the blog candy "The Munchies" -- as in "I've got the Munchies and I'm giving them to YOU!" And I say "Who ME? Yay!!! Libby you're the BEST! Now I won't have to fire you!"... or something like that. (just kidding!) How about you come get MY stamp room ready for a photo shoot? You're a pro!

Oh, and love the party card - CUTE!

  5. First off-- Love your stamp room!!! My is sooooooooooo crazy right now!!! I couldn't even find some of the supplies I needed last night at my stamp club uggggg!!!

Anyway-- My favorite thing..... probably embellishments in general-- I think they add so much to any project.

As far as your candy.... Why not name it exactly what they are... "My Favorite Things"??

    Thanks for all the inspirations!!!

  6. Your craft room is TOO NEAT!!! And it looks so organized. I can't stand it. LOL
A name for your blog candy.....hmmmmmmmmmmm....."Libby's Little Extra's"
I had trouble naming my kids as they were born.
My addiction has to be ribbon. Putting a card out there without ribbon is like going out naked. Feels awful.
WHAT? No ribbon in the candy........oh dear. LOL...........just kidding.

  7. 1. Adorable card!
    2. Congrats on your Blogoversary!!
    3. LOVE that cute, cute watermark!!!
    4. Please come clean my craft room. I'm drowning in here!
    5. Name for your blog candy? Fix? Hit? Relief? Satisfaction? Smack? Methadone? Intervention? Therapy? : ) That's a hard one...

  8. woohoo blog candy...love your site...wish I had your beautiful work space i am totally unorganized no matter how hard I try...How about LALALicious for your name? have a great day

  9. Congrats on your Blogversary! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and beautiful work throughout all that you've had on your plate! Your room looks amazing - great work!
Something that I can't stop using are stickles and Nestabilities! So funny because my guy thinks scallops are so cheesy look -- oh what does he know :)

  10. Congratulations.....I really enjoy your blog....I don't comment much but I do have you in my favorites.

I love embellishments....my kids are constantly telling me I have too much stuff but I can't help buying more.

  11. Happy Blogaversary Libby!!! I love popping in to see what's new from your creative space

I am a collector of paper trimmers and scissors. I am always looking for the best cutter out there, so I keep buying. I know have three I use on a regular basis.... each one has it's own merits and drawbacks.

    Hugs to you!

  12. Hi Libby - once again - you NEVER bore me - I love reading your blog - you are so hilarious - and your scrapbook room looks awesome - but I'm like you, I can't really create unless it is complete disaster!! My addiction in my stamping room - has to be paper and ribbon- I can't seem to get enough of it, and I've nowhere to put it!! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I think my favorite item is currently brads--I like the glimmery ones, but don't want to pay the price. A regular brad with some Frost Stickles on top (allowed to dry) is just as beautiful (and a lot cheaper).

Not sure what you should call the candy...maybe "Libby's Delight". :-)

    ReplyDelete
  14. Love your blog - love your work. Love those goodies! I am addicted to patterned paper. Just ordered more, because it was on sale...

You should name your blog candy "A Dose of Delight." That's all I can come up with on the 4 hours of sleep I got last night. Unfortunately, it's not because I was up stamping...

Great job on cleaning your stamping space! Good luck with the house sale. thanks for sharing :)

  15. How about junkie jewels or gems? Amazing blog candy and I really hope I get my name drawn!!! Your room is incredible. Mine requires being able to manuever an obstacle course!

  16. I have no idea for a name. . . how about Candy Fix? As for MY addiction. . . my sponges. I love to sponge! Okay, I love my ribbon too. And I adore lace and buttons. Yikes! We may be addicted together! Congrats by the way! :-)

  17. Congrats on you blogoversary! And good luck on selling your house...
My addiction has got to be my punches..can never have enough of them...Keep on blogging!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Congrats on the blogaversary. Your craft room looks awesome. I would love a craft room like that. Mine is just a hotchpotch of furniture I refuse to get rid of.lol.

I'm addicted to buying things that I think will look good on a card and then can't bring myself to use them. I am drawn to the pretty bling but can't bring myself to take it out of the packet.

How about Blog Candy Fix? Sorry not so good at thinking these things up either.

    Hugs
    Nic

  19. You could call your addiction "Stamp Dementia". I tried to look up some meanings of addiction & they directed me to therapy! I did find dementia in there somewhere.

My addiction is paper, I just keep buying it & I think I will use it someday - someday I will(or my 4 yr old will first). Thanks for a fun blog!

  20. Happy Blogoversary!!!!! My biggest addiction is paper. I can't get enough of it and it's overflowing my space. lol

As for a name for the blog candy...to me it looks like yummy, delicious blog candy. I know I'm no help. : )

  21. How about 'Peer Pressure Pretties' for your blog candy or 'Pushing Pretties'? just a thought ;)

My favorite addiction, hands down, is STICKLES!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Congrats on your anniversary. I love the green, pink and chocolate combo. My big addiction is any kind of embelly--ribbon, brads, flowers, etc. What I tend to reach for on almost every card is my Sakura stardust gel pen. Love that thing!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Happy Blogoversary Sis!! My addictions always change depending on what new thing you show me! I would say I have a problem of buying patterned paper and never using it! BUT since I have all your stamps and too many goodies to play with, I'll take myself out of the running for your blog candy.

As for a name for your blog candy, I still think it needs to be something using the word fix or addiction, maybe "fix of fabulousness" or something silly like that.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Candy Name: Gifts from an Enabler...LOL!

    My addiction is PAPER!
    Happy Blogoversary!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Blog Candy: how about Addiction Fixation?

My Addiction: right now I seem to be into techniques. I'm a Technique Junkie and just don't seem to be able to make a card with using one of the techniques that I have learned from there.

Congrats on your Blogoversary! I enjoy blog and look forward to many more blogaversaries! :D

  26. How about "Favorite Sweets"? All of them are yummy!

LOVE your blog... you are amazing. LOVE your work space.... that is a beautiful thing! Wish I had your abilities to get mine looking that good!

  29. WOW! What an amazing room. My own room is what I hope for one day.

I love ribbon. Since I don't have my own crafting room, I store it in old cassette tape boxes. It is easy to sort by color and makes it easy to put away.

  30. Congrats on your Blogoversary!

I don't have any original ideas for names, but I think several people have given some great suggestions :)

My current addiction is punches. You can never have too many!

Ooh, and rub-ons, although it pains me to use them, because then they're gone!

    ReplyDelete
  31. congrats on your clean play room!!! Wish mine looked the same! I really like to use very short, simple names for things..."Libby's Fix" or just "The Fix" As for my own addiction...I would say stamping in general, my husband would say paper (I admit, I do have a TON)! Thanks for the chance at the candy!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Okay, you have to say this slowly...I've tried and I can't say it fast, but I think you should call your candy, "AddictabiLibby". See, you can't say it fast!!

As far as what I'M addicted to... right now, it's paper. Can't stop!! Looking at Container Store mailing right now to decide how many more bins I need for paper!!

Love the card!! Love the blog!! Happy Blogoversary!!!

  33. I love Jan's post!!! HAHA! Thanks for the chance to win! My addiction would have to be ribbon and rhinestones!

  35. I love that card! And I've been noticing I can't make a card without using my paper snips. In fact I recently bought a second pair to use for ribbon only. Those things are sweet.

  36. I wish you the best selling your house. Your stamp room looks awesome. I, being a stamper, would buy the house for the craft room. Actually, that is what sold me on the house we have now---the office that I knew would make a great sewing room.

A name for your addition isn't coming to mind so I'll share my current addiction-patterned paper. I just love the many papers that are available. One can never have too many:) Your room is soooooo neat and tidy. I have to run downstairs now and clean mine because it's so messy that it's getting hard to create.
