Every time I get Courtney dressed, I think to myself "this outfit would make such a cute card!". I've been telling myself this for, what, about three and a half months now (?!), that I really need to translate some of these outfits into card ideas! Well I'm finally doing it!! Here's my first installment in what I hope will become a weekly feature on my blog - "From Courtney's Closet"! Maybe sometimes when I'm in less of a girlie mood I'll do a "From Carter's Closet" instead, although his toddler clothes aren't nearly as cute as his baby clothes used to be...! If anyone else wants to draw from this inspiration and play along, wonderful!! I'd be truly honored! But no worries if nobody does - it's just my latest trick for getting inspired in the stamp room (I've told you I can't seem to stamp without playing challenges for inspiration!) and if nothing else, my own little self-indulgent excuse to sneak in a weekly photo of my little cupcake. :-)
If you do decide to play along, please link it up here and let me know, I'd LOVE to check it out. And if you even go so far as to upload to SCS, let's call this one FCCC01 (From Courtney's Closet Challenge #1). For this week's card I decided to go with the subject matter (I *heart* elephants!), the colors (I used Pretty in Pink, Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White & Kraft - it really is more of a Creamy Caramel in her outfit but I love Kraft!!) and also the stripes! I saw somebody else do a ribbon thing similar to this recently - sorry, I can't remember who so if it was you please let me know! - and I really liked it, so I borrowed that idea. Of course I had to add some sparkle to the card, so my elephants' ears have Frosted Lace Stickles, along with their toes. The balloon is covered with Diamond Glaze. This stamp set is from Close To My Heart, I think it's soooo adorable! Well thanks for stopping by - if you like this feature, FYI I'm going to shoot for posting it every Wednesday night or Thursday morning. I was excited so I'm a little early this week. ;-)

That card is adorable and I'm so glad you started this feature! I love her clothes and must agree that they will make some cute cards! Let me know if/when you need some of your SU stamps back for this challenge!
ReplyDeleteCourtney is ADORABLE! I love your idea; I always loved my girls' baby clothes. Thanks for all the great inspirations. :) I look forward to more cards from Courtney's closet!
ReplyDeleteOh my...too cute...the card and the baby! IKWYM - I made many a card based on Charlotte's PJs about a year ago!
ReplyDeleteCute card, such an adorable baby!
ReplyDelete(my husband is from San Angelo) I'll be in Texas this July, can't wait to hit Hobby Lobby, we don't have one in Hawaii.
omgosh..how awesome...the idea and the card. Little girl clothes are so cute and I have been inspired by my dd's gymboree clothes often..GREAT idea!
ReplyDeleteFabulous idea, Libby! And could Courtney be cuter?!?!? NOOO! (We'll talk later about elephants... ;) ) I will definitely try to squeeze this challenge in!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!! Look at that smile!! And the card is adorable, too!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness - you've outdone yourself!! This is a super idea - I'd love to play along. I am keeping a 9-mo baby today, so don't know if I'll have time, but if I do, it'll be fun!! My kids are 10 and 12, but I'm afraid I'm getting "baby fever" again, they are just so much fun!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great challenge! I always loved baby clothes and toys too for inspiration...mine would usually find their way to a scrapbook page though :) I may have to play along...
ReplyDeleteCourtney is a cutie pie! Your card looks great!
ReplyDeleteHugs and smiles
oh she is so adorable!! I love that smile. This is just such a wonderful age! Your card is awsome too, I love how you used the outfit as an inspiration. Wish i had done that with some of my daughters amazing clothing that she had as an infant!
ReplyDeleteOh how adorable! What a great idea for a feature! Look at her little face. . .so sweet!
ReplyDeleteTotally cute card, I love those colors.
ReplyDeleteAnd look at my little cyber baby girl, she's so big and smiley, how did that happen? I swear, one minute she was still on the inside and Poof! she's like a little tiny person, so cute!
Oh my gosh...that little face couldn't be any cuter, Libby!!! Your inspiration card is perfect!! What a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so happy to see this picture of Courtney! What a little doll and how she's grown! Goodness! So pretty and what a beautiful smile!
ReplyDeleteNow, Libby...I don't have access to Courtney's Closet or any little person's closet. My own clothes aren't very inspiring...well, maybe...if I use my imagination. Is it okay if I make a card inspired by grown up clothes?
Your card is absolutely adorable! What a great inspiration Courtney's shirt was for you. I'm looking forward to this feature, especially so you can sneak in these photos of Courtney or Carter, as the case may be.
Courtney was an adorable baby Libby - what a great big smile!I love the cute card you made inspired by her sweet top. Great idea to start your inspiration challenges again - looking forward to seeing them!
