Sprinkle Bradshaw?

I hope you all are enjoying your holiday weekend (in the US anyway!). I made sure to spend a little time in my stamp room today because I'm not sure how much I'll get to do over the next couple weeks. Joel leaves tomorrow for a business trip to Germany (yes I am jealous!!) and thankfully my mom is getting in tonight for a visit from Michigan, to help me with the kids and the house selling and all of that while Joel's gone (not to mention she's here to just spend lots of time with her grandbabies who she wishes lived closer to her!). And, my stamp room is also the guest bedroom, so, alas, it will be occupied! *sigh* But hopefully mom will share the room during naptime...!

Tonight I played two challenges with one card. The sketch is another good one from Taylor (TECC17). It's a pretty basic sketch I can see myself coming back to over and over. The other challenge I played tonight is TCP Tuesday, hosted by Carole this week (TCPTUES08). The challenge this time around was to make a card inspired by a sitcom. I knew as soon as Carole posted this last Tuesday that I wanted to do Sex and the City - it was only much later that I realized she said SITCOM, and it's not really a sitcom. *sigh again* Ah well, the idea was already stuck in my head and I couldn't think of anything else to do, so Sex and the City it is, even if I'm stretching the rules of the challenge a bit! You may remember the last time I played a TCP Tuesday, I mentioned that I didn't have any TCP stamps to use... well I've obviously corrected that dire situation! :-) These stamps are from the Havin' a Pow Wow set. I figured Carrie Bradshaw wore the funkiest outfits on the show, why not a little hiawatha couture? And what about the hats she'd sometimes have on? Figured it wasn't too far-fetched to put her in a little feather headband. Now the moccasins - not so sure she'd like those, they don't have a high enough heel! I masked the stamp to ditch the papoose - she definitely wouldn't be carrying around a baby on her back, unless maybe it was Brady during an attempt at babysitting (although who knows where she's headed in the movie, which I cannot wait to see, BTW!) (as if I go see movies in theaters these days - HA!). I had to add a ton of glitter and bling to this card to make it Carrie Bradshaw-worthy. Oh, and I thought the sentiment was appropriate! LOL! I drew in the little city skyline to incorporate The City into the card. So there you have it - Sprinkle Bradshaw. Who would have thought? Thanks for stopping by today. :-)
  • Stamps: Havin' a Pow Wow from The Cat's Pajamas
  • Paper: Basic Black, Regal Rose, Cool Caribbean, Whisper White, Rose Red Prints DP
  • Ink: Adirondack Pitch Black
  • Accessories: Copic & SU markers, silver glitter, Spica glitter pen, old bling from my stash, Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder, slit slot punch, mat stack for paper piercing
By the way - we don't get HBO so I've only watched this show in syndication, which I like to refer to as Sex and the City without all the Sex, as it's highly edited. Watching the unedited movie may be a bit of a shock! LOL! But I am a big-time junkie (heh heh, BIG time...), my Tivo is always full of SATC repeats, I've watched the entire series from start to finish MANY times now. But I think the series ended so completely perfectly, I loved how they tied up every one of their stories - I'm a little nervous the movie will mess it up! But I really can't wait to see it!
