Today was my dad's birthday, this is the card that he will get. Have I mentioned I am horrible about sending cards?? I made this at least a couple weeks ago, but somehow it still didn't manage to make it into the mail on time! GEESH! I am hopeless. Anyway - my dad is an avid gardener. I grew up complaining about having to pull weeds in his huge vegetable garden to earn my allowance - but now as an adult I *love* gardening! Isn't it funny how that works? I hear my dad's gardens are pretty amazing this summer - in recent years he's expanded beyond veggies and now has some beautiful flower beds as well. As a matter of fact, he's coming down to visit in a few weeks (joining my mom for her final few days here and then staying on a week beyond her departure) - and he debated coming because he was worried about his gardens - would they get watered? Would anyone pick the abundant vegetables or deadhead the flowers?? My mom gave him a pretty hard time about actually considering staying home with his plants instead of visiting his grandbabies! Hopefully his gardens will survive a week without him. He's up in Michigan - it's sooooo much easier to have a nice garden up there than it is here in Texas! I am jealous whenever I go back there and see all the things he grows!! So anyway - I thought this cute little

ReplyDeleteLove the carrots card!! Enjoyed reading about your dad's garden. Brought back memories of when I was kid growing up in Canada, we had a HUGE garden too and I HATED pulling weeds too!! Now I love to garden (even though I don't have one) and love flowers and plants. Funny how that is eh!

ReplyDeleteThis is super cute, Libby! I love the orange dot background and it sounds perfect for your dad. I know he'll appreciate the significance. I didn't like all the chores my mom made me do when I was growing up, especially having to clean my room before I went out with friends. Now I appreciate how she raised me. My son told me the same thing after he was grown. Yes, funny how that works.
