Welcome to another edition of
From Courtney's Closet, my weekly challenge where I pick an outfit from my baby girl's closet and let it inspire a card. If you're new to my blog, you can see all of the past weeks
here. Since I'm doing "
Hambo Week" this week, I sort of cheated on the challenge a little - I started looking at her clothes thinking "hmm, what could I put her in that would go with a Hambo stamp!" ;-) Then I saw this little ballerina outfit that Courtney's Aunt Laura bought for her, and we had a winner!! Isn't this little ballerina stamp cute?? Although I have to admit, this outfit is getting a little tight on Courtney - you can sort of see how
tight the fabric is over her sweet baby belly, and look at those chubby legs - makes me think the Hambo ballerina I used on
this card may have been a better choice... ;-) I'm also not so sure about this particular bow for Courtney - it sorta looks more like a sweatband. If I only had some leg warmers for her... makes me have to sing "she's a maniac, maniac on the floor, and she's dancing like she's never danced before..." LOL Today's card is quite self-explanatory. Typical me - polka dot and scallop goodness. A couple tidbits that you
may find interesting - I wanted to make an oval shadow under her, so I punched one out of cardstock with my SU oval punch, and then used the negative cardstock (square cardstock with an oval hole in it! ;-) ) as a template for coloring her shadow. And also there's Frosted Lace Stickles on her tutu and on the sentiment, not sure how well those are showing up.
Last week was a banner week as far as participants goes!!! So many, in fact, that I'm going to just post all the links to their ADORABLE creations here and then attempt to add them in a slideshow. I'm trying Flickr this time and I haven't used it before... so cross your fingers it will work... But first, a HUGE thanks to
Kim (x2!!),
Karen,
Nancy,
Leslie,
Kathryn,
Sue,
Monica,
Susan and
Diane for playing!!! That is just so exciting! (And btw, a couple of my stamping idols have told me that they may play, and I will completely pee my pants if they ever do (Hi Sharon, Hi Susan!) ;-)) Thanks everyone for stopping by today!

ReplyDeleteYour card is great, and your little dancer is adorable, though I agree the headband made me flashback (not flashDANCE) to the 80s! LOL
Ok, those are the CUTEST pictures ever! I love the card too!
ReplyDeleteWhen I bought the outfit, I assumed they purposefully made the headband look like a sweatband, to go with the dancer outfit...I think it is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love the card too. SO cute!

I posted my Pink Tutu card tonight! I swear I have what I now think of as "Monica-itis"...it has to do with her polka dot comments LOL. I guess I just love polka dots too and now I will forever think of her when I stick them on my cards LOL!
