This image and sentiment was another combo that I fell in love with immediately the first time I visited the
Hambo Stamps website. That sentiment is too funny!! I'm not 100% sure I like this card, it's a little
weird, for lack of a better word to describe it... but I do have to admit, I am awfully proud of my coloring of the image! This time I broke out a dear, old friend - my Stampin' Up watercolor pencils! They've been collecting dust on my shelf for years - I used to use them often, but then SU introduced the Watercolor Wonder Crayons and my pencils took a backseat (and of course now my crayons are lonely and envy the love I give to my Copics...!). I guess this time the pencils called to me because I felt like watercoloring, but since some of the details on this image are small I wanted a fine point - and the pencils were perfect. As I colored this, I actually kept thinking to myself "make Timbo proud, make Timbo proud...". I don't know if I achieved that... if you don't know, "Timbo" is the half of the dynamic Hambo duo that designs the stamps (Monica comes up with the funny sentiments!) and he is an *amazing* artist. Check out
this post! Wouldn't you love to have just a fraction of his talent?? So for my card... I colored the image and had fun doing it, but then I couldn't figure out what to put with it to complete the card. That big orange flower is slightly goofy looking, I think, but it sort of mimics the starfish on the image. Maybe. Well that's my theory and I'm sticking with it! :-) And of course I had to use polka dots and scallops on this card. I think I better seek professional help with that.... Ok, better go do some housework! Thanks for stopping by today!!
