It's time once again for
From Courtney's Closet - where I make a card (and challenge you to do the same!) based on one of my baby girl's outfits. If you're new to this challenge, you can check out past weeks
here. Today I'm playing the challenge a little bit differently. In previous weeks, I've been literally inspired by the outfit - the colors, pattern, etc. This week it's more of a theme. Our Cape Cod vacation last week was bookended by overnight stays in Boston. On our final evening I was lucky enough to catch up (briefly!) with my friend Nahdia, who worked with me in Austin a couple years ago, before I became a SAHM and she moved back to Boston to be closer to her family.
Being the generous soul that she is, she came with gifts - including this cute little Boston Red Sox outfit for Courtney!! And of course - in my world, new outfit means new card!! :-) (I have to post two photos, so you can see that despite being a baseball outfit, she still has a cute little ruffle butt...!) But instead of making a literal translation of the outfit, I decided to be inspired to make a card dedicated to one of *my* favorite teams! And I don't usually "dictate" how you should be inspired by my challenge - but this week I will
suggest that you also make a card based on one of
your favorite teams!! I mentioned to my DH that I was going to use this outfit this week, and challenge you to make a card based on your favorite team - and first thing he said was "but the Red Sox are NOT your favorite team!! You have to point that out!!!" - relax dear, nobody is going to accuse you of living with a Red Sox fan!!! LOL. We live in Texas now, but all of our favorite teams are the Michigan teams - the Tigers,
the Red Wings (of course!!), the Pistons, Michigan State, and of course, the Lions. We've been Lions fans through thick and thin (mostly thin, lol). And since football season is starting up, and because I love the little lion in this Wild About You set, I decided to go with that. This card is completely silly though - when I sat down to stamp I thought I had a football stamp, but I couldn't find it. I also thought I had some football paper but couldn't find that either. So instead I decided to make a very "Libby" football card, with scallops, polka dots and bling! Yet another card I won't really have anyone to send it to...! But it was super fun to make. The little lion has a ton of dimension to him (I cut out the various parts & popped them up on dimensionals) and the DP is cuttlebugged with the heart folder. Fun stuff! So, are you going to indulge me, and make a card dedicated to YOUR favorite team?? If you do, be sure to let me know here with a comment, so I can find you! And if you upload to SCS, please use keyword FCCC.
I had hoped to make my own card based on
last week's outfit, but I just didn't have enough time. But my usual cast of characters played along, making me a very happy girl. I love them all!! I haven't had a chance to comment on your creations yet on your blogs (sorry, plan to do that next!!) and I need to get this posted before Courtney has a milk-deprived meltdown on me, so I won't add my usual comments here. Sorry! I'll try to do better next week...! I so appreciate you all playing, your creations are so creative and fun!! Here they are...

ReplyDeleteI love the inspirational outfit and the card.
What an adorable little budding baseball fan Courtney looks in that outfit! Looks like she got a little excited about the game. Love that ruffled backside! Your card is super cute, Libby! I think you'll find an occasion for it. Surely there's another Lions fan you can send it to!
ReplyDeleteHad my card done several days ago and could not get my dang printer to print the picture I placed on it, so had to wait and have my daughter print it and bring it to me...what we go through to finish a card LOL!
ReplyDeleteJust posting right now! So to be a late lizzy!
