Jane had a fun idea for a challenge this month - she challenged us to make a holiday card, but we couldn't use any of the stamps from the
Christmas or
Winter pages at the Hambo site. So, I had to dust off the ol' thinking cap once again! I actually thought of a couple other ideas before settling on this one. I'm a bit nervous sharing it with you - I truly hope it doesn't offend anyone - my sister tells me she has a snowman nativity scene that she got from her in-laws, and it bothers her a little to have the holy scene made of snowpeople. And what did I go and do? I made wisemen out of
vampire pigs!!! But... my sister thought it was a cute idea, so hopefully you will too. :-) As I was looking through my stamps, they called to me because their capes looked sorta like robes. I made the little hats, beards and gifts myself - the beards look somewhat goofy, but they were necessary to hide the fangs...! LOL I was able to avoid inking up the pumpkin this little guy is usually holding with my teardrop shaped ink pad, but the fangs were just too difficult to avoid. I printed the sentiment on the computer. Which again I hope isn't offensive! I think
Monica assumed I'd be offensive with my card, considering that she made her card with me in mind!! Geesh.
(I told her I didn't like it one bit, but in reality I think it's pretty darn cute and funny!) And check out what the other girls came up with as well:

Oh dear, I'd conjured up all kinds of bad stuff when you said this might be offensive, but it's not nearly as bad as I'd imagined. I think it's funny that 4 of 6 of us used pigs for the challenge!
ReplyDeleteVery creative Libby -- and I especially like how you cleverly covered up the fangs, and eliminated the pumpkins -- since I don't think any of the wise men carried Halloween candy! Good call!
