Proud to be an American

I made this card for this week's Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast (TLC204) - Faux Mosaic! How fun is that!?!? To make the USA part, I used the Stampin' Up Sticky Cuts letters - I'm not sure they can handle the heat tool as well as the tacky tape, the embossing powder ended up a little funky in those areas - and did not smell too great while I was melting it!. Hopefully short-term exposure to toxic fumes won't do TOO much damage - LOL! I was pretty excited when I found that my Snap Stamps had enough letters to spell out "proud to be an american" in its entirety - I didn't think I'd be able to. Ah, the little things that make my day... ;-)

I also have to show you some patriotic cookies my sister and I made - she works at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Library here in Austin, and she took them into work for their little Inauguration Day viewing party. I know many of you who read this are slightly more conservative than I am (LMAO - I am a total bleeding heart liberal, I'm sure you all know that by now - and if that bothers you enough to leave me nasty comments about it, hopefully you unsubscribed long ago!) - anyway - we had a ton of fun making these cookies! And I am so incredibly proud to be an American this week. Even if you don't agree with President Obama's politics, you have to be proud of the fact that our country has finally overcome some UGLY chapters in our history book. Yay us! :-) Thanks for stopping by today!

  3. WOOO-HOOO!!!! LOVE those amazing looking cookies -- did you save some for your favorite lefty stamping sister!?!?! Man, what an amazing, amazing day. He's just amazing.

  4. Did you notice how many times I said 'amazing' on my comment?! AMAZING!

  5. Dang it!! Why do you guys live so far away????? I would love to craft with you two. The cookies look awesome and I laughed when I saw them. (In a good Republican way of course)!

You and Laura are very talented and I miss you both!!!

  6. Nice job on the cookies, Libby!!! I'm another BHL, so no worries there. I missed the whole inauguration on TV, so I'm looking for it on the internet. I'm proud and happy to be an American this week!!

  7. I'm about as conservative as it gets, but that doesn't mean we can't be blogging friends!

  8. That's a pretty darn cool card--notice you managed to get the polka dots in there. Love it! Love the cookies, too--wow!! What a day... I was at work and the coverage in the evening was pretty poor, I thought. I did see the speech on the internet, though.

  9. Werent those Snap Stamps just the greatest thing? I dont know WHY they discontinued them ...

  10. You crack me up! I love your cookies and card!

I always enjoy your comments - thanks so much for taking the time to leave one!
