More Bluebonnets!

Yes, I'm still on my bluebonnet kick! What can I say, they just make me happy! Today's bluebonnet was designed by local stamp artist Joyce Meyers, and can be found at the Texana Designs store. I've been a fan of Joyce's stamps for a long time now - back when I first started stamping I took a class she taught at my LSS. It was a little overwhelming - I was a complete beginner - but she actually introduced me to embossing! Her class was using watercolor paints directly on the stamp, and then clear embossing powder while the paint is still wet. I should try that again now and see if I can figure it out (now that I'm much less overwhelmed!). :-) Today I just colored my bluebonnet with my Stampin Up ink pads and an aquapainter. The whites of the bluebonnet have Star Dust Stickles added, which you can't see in the photo but looks sooo pretty IRL. I sponged a little Chocolate Chip on all the edges, and also over the Swiss Dots from the Cuttlebug. The DP is the new textured specialty DP from SU- love it! For the sentiment, I painted a little ink onto a bit of watercolor paper, let it dry, stamped the sentiment and then punched it out with the circle punch. I've been loving how everyone puts those Martha Stewart punched butterflies on their cards, so I finally did one myself. I have to admit - this card makes me happy! I'll have one more bluebonnet card tomorrow, and then I'll give you all a break from wildflowers. I think. Maybe. :-) Thanks for stopping by today!
