Monsters make me smile...

Happy 2011 my stampy friends!! Are you all ready for a creative new year? One of my goals this year is to blog more often. Woohoo! So let's get the posting started!! Today I'm sharing a little sewing project I made for my sweet little niece for Christmas...

Remember the capes I made for my son's birthday party? Well I made this monster a couple days before starting the capes. It was my "practice run" - to make sure I could get the sewing machine out of the box, figure out how to thread it and load the bobbin, make stitches actually happen, etc etc! My sister had done a monster theme for Morgan's first birthday party in October, so I decided to keep that theme going. I ordered an adorable monster t-shirt and a sweet knit monster hat for her on Etsy, and added this little felt toy myself. It's the Hero Arts monster - I stamped him and enlarged him to make myself a pattern to work from. Or maybe in this case it's a "her" not a "him"? hee hee My niece likes her - in fact, she finds her quite tasty...

Hey by the way, have you checked out the latest Play Date Cafe challenge? The colors are soooo pretty!! And... I can't wait... in 2 weeks I get to "officially" join the team on the challenges!! I AM SO EXCITED FOR THAT!!

I'll be back tomorrow with Texas Tuesday, yeehaw!
