Guest Designing with the EIC #129!

Today I am *thrilled* to kick off my month guest designing with the Etsy Inspired Challenge team!

My card was inspired by this brooch from the Desired Things shop on Etsy.

She has sooo many gorgeous pieces in her shop, it was really difficult choosing just one to use as inspiration! But I really loved the background on this one, with the stripes, glitter and script text. Although I went with purple instead of silver (you know I can't resist purple!), I had a TON of fun recreating the background!

It was created with Claudine Hellmuth's yummy Studio Paints, some Stickles, and the La Lettre stamp from Hero Arts.

To pull it all together, I thought the latest challenge from Tiff's Sketchy Sunday was perfect!!

I created the silver flower "medallion" by building up several layer of embossing powder, then dipping the stamp into it while the EP was still hot. It didn't come out as perfectly as I would have liked - I got some bubbles. Meh.

I loved how the brooch has silver stars on the ribbon, so I punched some hearts out of the scrap embossed piece and glued them onto the tulle.

Now make sure and head on over to the Etsy Inspired Challenge blog and check out the full details - there are prizes to be had! WOOHOO!! And also visit the rest of the wonderful EIC team:

The deadline is next Friday, March 11 at noon PST. I hope you'll play along!

  • Stamps: K5344 La Lettre, CL495 Blossom Art, CL272 All Occasion Messages from Hero Arts
  • Paper: Bazzill purple, gray cardstock from stash
  • Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Versamark
  • Accessories: Silver EP, heat tool, Stickles, Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paint (blank canvas, purple palette), SU heart & scallop punches, tulle, ribbon, staples
