For my movie creations, I decided to create a little tribute to my favorite decade, the 80's! I'm a total child of the 80's - I'd show you what I looked like back then with my two-toned hair and gummy bracelets galore, but oh darn, my photos are all packed away in anticipation of our move... ;-) I've mentioned before my love for 80's music - well there are plenty of great 80's movies too! Let's get to it, shall we?
This whole idea started when I saw the new Amish digi. As soon as I saw Monica (or Tim?) post it on Facebook, I had to have it, it's just too cute & funny. I wanted to use it immediately. Then it occurred to me - hellloooooo, Witness! Ahhh, classic Harrison Ford. *swoon*
Then I started thinking about other movies I loved in my youth. One of my all time favorites was Pretty in Pink. The girl from this Dress Up stamp is rather pretty in pink, wouldn't you say? And I thought this sentiment was perfect, because in the end Andie's sweet adorable friend Duckie did indeed make it better. (Favorite line: "This is an incredibly romantic moment, and you're ruining it for me!")
Next up, one of my all-time favorites. Are you ready for it? The Lost Boys!! (I know I've shocked you in the past with my confessions about loving vampires, long before they were sparkly...) I had to mask off the pumpkin in Vampire Pig's hands to make this card non-Halloweeny. And I created my own sentiment using a line from the movie. And if you're wondering, the answer is NO, I have absolutely no idea who I'd ever actually send this card to with that sentiment. LOL!! Just being silly...
And finally - Weird Science. It's impossible to own the Mad Scientist digi and not make a Weird Science card for this hop. In my book anyway.
I haven't been stamping much lately so I'm super duper rusty - I needed to lean on a sketch challenge to get my creative juices flowing. All of these cards were inspired by this week's Mojo Monday sketch, turned on it's side.
Ok I've kept you here for FAR too long. Now I'd like to send you on your way, over to Heather's fabulous blog!!
Happy Hopping!!

ReplyDeleteGoodness, girl, when you stamp, you stamp!! I ALMOST did Witness with the Amish digi!! LOVE that movie. And how fun to use the same sketch and have them look all different~!

Did you find a house?
The 80's were awesome!! :)

Libby, don't make me choose a favorite. Well maybe it's the Witness. I liked the sentiment. You were really on a roll and I am so glad I paid you a visit. I love Hambos images.
ReplyDeleteOOOO! I love all your cards! Great thinking! Your images are perfect!
ReplyDeleteI am a child of the '80's also (even though I tell my children that I'm 20...it's still possible!)
I also love to watch the movies you chose.
wow, you sure have been buzy!! Love those images, too cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat an over-achiever you are! LOL I didn't even recognize that these all used the same sketch until you mentioned it. I love them all, and don't think I could pick a favorite. (Great job masking off the pumpkin on the vampire card!)
ReplyDeleteI too am a child of the 80s and have seen all of these movies repeatedly. I can't think of the movie "Witness" without starting to sing "Don't know much about his-tory, don't know much bi-o-logy..." My favorite line from Pretty in Pink is "Do I Offend??" -- said while sniffing armpits! LOL
I've gotta say I'm having SO much fun going through this hop and seeing all these great cards! Thanks for sharing all of yours!! :)
what a fun line up of cards Libby!
ReplyDeleteWow! You were busy. I love the bright purple card and the pink card the best, but they're all terrific. What a great idea to do Pretty in Pink. That's the perfect image.
ReplyDeleteLibby, fab cards and such a fun post! It felt like such a blast from the past too, these are all films I'd love to watch again. I still love a lot of the 80s music too but now only hear it on the "golden oldies" shows - aagh I feel ancient! Don't forget to show us photos from the 80s when you've unpacked!!
ReplyDeleteWOW! You sure were a busy stamper. I love all of your cards. It was fun to see how you used the Mad Scientist image since I used it too. Your "moment of science" sentiment is perfect.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! You did a fabulous job on ALL of your cards! When you said 80's movies (as I'm a product of the 80's as well - I graduated HS in 1983), I immediately thought of Pretty in Pink so thanks for the tribute.
ReplyDeleteMy, weren't you the busy little bee! I love all of your cards (I don't think I could pick a favorite if I had to!)- 4 great movies, but I must admit I love Lost Boys!!! Wonderful job on these!!!
