Enjoy the Ride + Freebie Friday!

Bonjour! Today we're going for a fun little bike ride on a warm, sunny day.

I inked up an older set from MFT called Enjoy the Ride. I believe this set is now retired. Which is pure insanity, because why oh why would a bicycle stamp set EVER retire?! Ah well, what can ya do? It will never retire in my stamp room! The sun shining on this card as I took the photo is a bit out of control, but oh well - adds to the happy, warm, sunny day on a bike feel of it, IMHO. :-)

For the colors, I was inspired by this gorgeous bike photo shared on the Moxie Fab World blog. Oh my Moxie Fab, indeed! And wasn't it awesome of Cath to post it during my bike card month?? Thanks for the inspiration!

And it's Freebie Friday, so I have a freebie for you! Just tell me about your first bike and I'll put you in the drawing for an adorable non-retired set from MFT, the Pure Innocence I Wheelie Like You! I have two copies of this little cutie thanks to Jennifer McGuire - she sent me one because she just knew I'd love it! Which I did - so much so that I had already ordered one for myself! LOL! So you can also thank Jennifer for this giveaway.

Comments to enter the drawing end 8pm EST Sunday night, and I'll announce the winner next week.

Have a nice weekend,

  1. love the way you used that fab photo from Cath to create this wonderful card! it's amazing! cute banner, too. :)

I so remember my first bike. it was kelly green with a wicker basket on the front and white grips on the handlebars. seems like it had white streamers coming from the handlebars, too. I rode it EVERYWHERE! but the best part is that I would put my cat in the basket and take her with me. she was very VERY patient and got to the point where she loved to go biking with me.

thanks for the great memories! :)

  2. love your card!

The first bike I remember was dark orange with a red sparkly banana seat. I'd seen (and loved) a green version of the same bike, but must've been too pricey, bc dad got me the red one at the next store :(

  3. I grew up on a dairy farm and was given a calf to take care of. When I sold it I had enough money to buy my first bike. It was blue and had three speeds!

  4. What a fabulous card Libby - love the colours and I can't figure why the stamp was retired either!!

I knew I was getting my first bike for my 13th birthday, so haunted the bike shop and put my order in for the blue bike (being a blue freak then) and got the red one!! I am sure it never rode as well as the blue would have!

  6. Awww my first bike! I got mine back in the days when everything was recycled! My Dad bought it used for just a few bucks, sanded it and painted it with glittery metallic paint-quite styling for the day!

  8. I was 5. It was blue. I started to learn on the sidewalks of Philadelphia. Fire hydrant got in the way. STILL have the scar on my knee. Traumatized, I wouldn't try again for several months. My parents took me and the bike to my grandparents farm. Grass was a more patient teacher. The end.

  9. Your card is so cute, love your passion about bicycles and such. My first bike was a regular one which I got as an adult about 2 years ago ( I know.... really). There's a good story behind that, too long to write about here:-)!!!!

  10. Great card, Sue...but, sadly, in almost 70 years--no bike for me! It has been my pleasure to provide them to both my children and my grandchildren, however!

  11. What an adorable card! I love the twine bows.

My first bike was pink with a sparkly pink banana seat. It also had a white basket with pink flowers (for my stuffed dog) and pink and white fringe pom poms on the handle bars. Wonder why my brother didn't want it? lol
